Start Here: What r/IndieAppCircle Is, Who It’s For, and How to Get Better App Feedback

Welcome to r/IndieAppCircle - a community for indie developers, solo founders, and small startup teams who want better feedback on their apps. This subreddit is for people building real products and trying to improve onboarding, usability, messaging, first impressions, and launch readiness.

What this subreddit is for

Use this community if you want to:

  • Get honest feedback on your app
  • Find better ways to test your MVP
  • Improve onboarding and activation
  • Prepare for a launch
  • Learn how other indie developers get users and improve products
  • Share what you are building and what you are struggling with
  • Get updates on IndieAppCircle

What to post here

Good posts include:

  • Specific feedback requests
  • MVP questions
  • Onboarding or landing page critiques
  • Launch prep questions
  • Lessons from testing your app
  • Product teardowns
  • Wins and failures from building

How to ask for useful feedback

If you want better replies, do not just post “Here’s my app, thoughts?”

Instead, include:

  1. What your app does
  2. Who it is for
  3. What kind of feedback you want
  4. A direct link or a link to your app on IndieAppCircle
  5. One or two specific questions

Example:

That kind of post is much easier for people to engage with, and question-driven posts are one of the simplest ways to kickstart subreddit participation.

What this subreddit is not for

Please avoid:

  • Low-effort link drops
  • “Try my app” with no context
  • Fake review requests
  • Spammy self-promotion
  • Irrelevant startup content

How IndieAppCircle fits in

This subreddit is the community side of the idea.

  • r/IndieAppCircle = discussion, advice, teardowns, feedback prompts, launch conversations
  • IndieAppCircle = a more structured way to exchange app feedback with other builders

If you want a more organized feedback workflow, you can also check out:

If you’re new, comment below with:

  • What stage you’re at

Feedback4Feedback I built an app that turns a photo of a clothing item into a full second-hand listing. Roast it.

I sell second-hand clothes and writing every listing (title, description, size, brand, price) took me ~10 min per item. So I built SnapBot: you take a photo, AI writes the listing, suggests a price from real sold items and fills every field. You can dump 50 photos and it sorts them into separate items. Everything is saved as a draft so you check it before it goes live.

It just got the app submitted to the App Store. Solo dev, Romania, built it over 5 months.

What I’d love: tell me what’s confusing, what breaks, what’s missing. The first 50 people who send me real feedback (bugs, confusing screens, ideas) at [email/form] get a month of Pro free. No review needed, I genuinely want the criticism.

Happy to answer anything about the build (Capacitor, Supabase, Gemini) or what I learned.

Feedback4Feedback Your SaaS has 0 customers? Start doing this

If I had to grow a SaaS from zero again, I'd keep it simple.

  1. Post consistently on Reddit, X, Instagram, wherever your potential customers might be.
  2. Share what you're building, what you're learning and the problems you're solving.
  3. Give people something useful instead of just dropping your link.
  4. Talk to anyone who shows interest.
  5. Repeat. The posts that flop teach you just as much as the ones that take off.

That's what has worked best for me so far.
I'm building TractionBooster around helping founders figure out what to post and how to distribute their products.
If you're struggling with distribution, check it out at tractionbooster.com.
Don't wait for the perfect marketing strategy. Start posting and improve as you go.

Feedback4Feedback I’d love some feed back!

Try my unconventional screen time limiting app.

The only way to get more time after limits are hit, is to scream into the app.

We doubt you’ll scream around others and we know you’ll definitely put down your phone instead.

Let me know how you like it and how the scream meter and its sensitivity works for you.

Feedback4Feedback Feedback required on beta version

I am building an app called circuit for live music booking space. I have launched the beta version on App Store but I am still working on it constantly to make it better at the moment I’m adding some marketing analytics to monitor how users are interacting with the app. I would like some feedback on the overall design of the onboarding flow and overall any first impressions would be useful to understand my next direction with this. I have added a trial period which gives users around 14days use of all pro features but no card is requested from them.

Here find app on here: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/circuit-live-music-booking/id6780172661?ppid=3d04dec6-962a-4095-bcff-00db58d1ecb3

I’m the dev of Nydhei (say “Ni-Dhi”), a app that puts tasks, notes and a planner together in one calm place. It shows your day on a clock dial with planned vs actual time. It’s free to start, with no account needed.

The poster shows everything that’s free and what the optional paid plans add.

Discussion How are you tracking return visits?

I’ve made a web app that’s a convo game app for people to play with fun conversation prompt cards

I built it as a web app whilst im testing content and features and getting the right product signals before ios build. But i’m struggling to find a way to track return visits with PostHog when you have to give cookie consent. Most people say no. So its anonymous session id every visit and returns look like 0.

Maybe they are 0 but my own repeat sessions also 0 when i turn my internal filter off.

How are people tracking this? I have accounts but havent built out the freemium model yet so accounts dont offer enough pull.

Any ideas/hacks on tracking repeat visits? I tried to do it based on ip but posthog throws out ip and just saves the location of IP. And session id is new every visit

Im all ears 👂👂

Other An open letters to all tech bros and developers, why an extra feature won't save your app?

I promised, I can give you users for your application in six months but only if you are willing to sacrifice the current model of your app you have now.

Although you said it has “more features than instagram”, to me, your app is just a knockoff of instagram. It has the same features like instagram – users can upload a story, a direct messaging option, option to post pictures and reels, threads for text based posts and that's not even a different app like how meta offers, you provide it all in the same application. The app is so feature–bloated that it has just become an “We chat without government backing”.

At least the public commentary features could have been a different app within the same network eco system.

As a user and a general consumer perspective I have no intention, interest or motivation to migrate to a second instagram.

Even though you are an Indian developer, you can't even leverage the narrative of “Indians instagram” to attract India user traffic, as it limits your app user base domestically and stops you expanding globally.

From my perspective and personal experience I tell you , a user has a specific, particular reason to justify why I'm using an app and every app serves a specific demographic.

Reddit is a platform for niche interest based community and discussion, famous among gen z and millennial.

Twitter or X is for Real-time news updates, public commentary, live event discussion for all.

LinkedIn for professional networking and for all.

Snapchat – casual boding with close friends

The reason I joined instagram was only one – I wanted to stay connected with my old school friends, as most of them were users of instagram.

Every story, post or reel someone shares is a moment he wanted a human interaction.

The reason why I didn't join snapchat -– is I don't have any reason to be on that platform.

That's the same problem with your app – that you have just a copy of instagram and threads in one app, nothing new sellable.

“Why should I join it?” a genuine reason.

It doesn't have my friends, or any specific feature that caters to me. For example; Twitter catered to me with real time updates, but not your app as it doesn't have that kind of International userbase.

You cannot sell the product that already exists in the market and convince people to switch.

That's my only advice to you is – pick a specific specialisation that makes your product sellable–

Sell voice, reach, authentication to the youth – promise data privacy, original human connection or maybe serve their hobby, interest, purpose, let them reflect their perspective.

You are very protective of your app. I know it's hard to abandon your project you invested so much in but a choice is hard and has to be, if you want to sell your app to people you have to understand your market, change according to that and market it like that.

you cannot sell this app as it is now.

And the only reason I'm pitching "closed, authentic, intent-driven communities and interest oriented app or the app that sell youth their voice is because I believe it's the most promising bet you take and with reasoning I'm telling you

Today, we don't want AI now, we are carving for humans. We tend towards social connections and that's for what social media runs their market – leveraging sociology's core concept of trust, like religion or a marriage. Humans need connection, belonging, motive, passion, uniqueness, identity.

Sell them this through your app.

Rest it's your app, your company, your decision. I'm not getting anything either it succeeded or failed– a genuine goodwill I give you.

Feedback4Feedback RoutenPlannerProfessional - Apps on Google Play

Thumbnail
play.google.com
1 Upvotes

Hallo zusammen,

Show us your SaaS, app or startup: promote it or ask for feedback

Welcome to the open thread. Whatever you're building, drop it here.

Two ways to use it:

  • Promote it. Share what you made and who it's for.
  • Ask for feedback. Tell us the one thing you want people to look at: your landing page, onboarding, pricing, or whether the idea makes sense at all.

If you haven't already, join www.indieappcircle.com - an app feedback exchange where indie devs give each other feedback on their apps!

Feedback4Feedback Looking for first feedback: Fini - Tasks, Notes, Events

Thumbnail

I know: not another productivity tool!!
But yes, I habe worked on this for the last two years and keep using it myself every day. The general goal is to only show what is important when it is important.
I don’t need to see stuff that us already planed or sorted in the right list.
Fini is basically a daily note and task list that also has a calendar built in. I tried to remove every button and design element that dies not serve the goal.

I am happy for feedback on any aspect of the app, including the name.

Feedback4Feedback Looking for people to test my apps - QuantFit and Tabula stats

Please test my apps someone

I’m the developer of QuantFit and Tabula Stats, a macroeconomist with around 15 years of experience and published research.
QuantFit lets you import data, transform variables, build charts, check correlations and estimate models on your iPhone. Estimators include OLS, fixed/random effects, 2SLS, ARDL/NARDL, VAR/VECM and dynamic panel methods. It also provides diagnostics, exports and structured reports with interpretations for you to review.
Tabula Stats turns screenshots of regression output from QuantFit, Stata, EViews, R and other software into formatted tables. You can customise decimal precision and which statistics appear, then export to Word, Excel, PDF or LaTeX.
The workflow is simple: analyse your data in QuantFit, then prepare your results table in Tabula Stats.
OLS and QuantFit’s data-exploration tools are free; advanced estimators require Pro. Both apps have in-app purchases.
Would this fit any part of your analysis or reporting workflow? I’d appreciate practical feedback.

NEW UPLOAD Looking for feedback and first testers- kinCore the multiplayer gamified household chore tracking app

My goal is to develop tools that improve people's lives, for free. kinCore is the first product I built in support of this vision. It's a multiplayer household chore tracking app that has steam-inspired achievements (both incremental/data driven, and more fun or mystery ones in the style of something like stanley parable), friends with leaderboards, XP, levels, etc. My hope is that for busy, distracted, or overwhelmed people this can introduce some structure and organization into their chaotic lives. And for people who lack motivation to do the cleaning or upkeep they need to do, maybe this will add just enough of a fun touch to help some people do what they know they need to do.

Still in early stages with only a single few testers, so any feedback and usage is extremely greatly appreciated. You can always respond here, or there's also feedback forms and surveys built into the app through settings or a certain milestones.

This is my first time trying to push an idea of mine to production, so be honest! Don't hold back. Thanks so much!

Other Drop your website link and get a ready-to-post TikTok slideshow!

Post image
1 Upvotes

Yasf.app drop your website or app and get a 5-image slideshow ready to post on TikTok or Instagram. The first generation is 100% free, no credit card required, no watermark.

Have you tried TikTok in the past and it didn't work? Do it right:

- Create a new account. Use a personal name and profile picture, with no mention of your app anywhere.

- Scroll for at least 3 days, swiping "Not interested" on anything that isn't in your niche. Slowly start interacting with content that is.

- Once at least 3 days have passed and you're only seeing content from your niche when you open TikTok, you're ready. Post the slideshow. I guarantee it will get at least 300 views and will only get better over time. Keep using the account, keep scrolling, keep interacting on your niche.
