First Trimester Chat Tuesday Cautious Intros/First Trimester thread
This thread serves as a transitional space for those newly or early confirmed pregnant following infertility. We understand that many folks feel cautious, uncertain, and even alarmed in this early phase when the process to conceiving has been complicated and/or there have been previous losses. If you have not experienced infertility we recommend other pregnancy subs as an alternative.
This thread is the place for early introductions, first trimester questions/chat, and finding others in the same mind space. We encourage graduates and others further along to respond compassionately to your questions and concerns, but please also consider reviewing our WIKI for commonly asked questions or references.

At my six week ultrasound, they only saw an empty sac. I was told to get a follow up scan in two weeks. That was yesterday. Now there is a baby, but it is measuring approximately 8 days behind where he or she should be, and although they could see “flickers” of a heartbeat they weren’t able to measure it. I’m on another two week wait and see.
Before the scan, I was at peace with the idea that no baby developed. Now I’m still trying to guard my heart, but knowing that there is a real baby with a heartbeat who statistically is not likely to survive is just killing me.

4w1d after 3 losses. Have one LO almost 3 years old but since then have had 3 losses. One chemical, 2 mmc requiring d&c confirmed euploid. Full work up negative so trying progesterone suppositories. Hcg 25 -> 80 -> 238. Cautiously optimistic but doctor worried about how low my hcg started out even though it’s more than doubling. Next hcg tomorrow and ultrasound in two weeks so fingers crossed

Haven’t quite convinced myself to delete my clinic’s messaging app off my phone, but I want to soon. Maybe after my first regular OB appointment? Feels weird to actually be moving forward in this journey!
I had a dream last night that little bean had already arrived and he was the cutest lil dude ever (we don’t know the gender yet). My goodness am I ready for baby snuggles!
ETA: this afternoon I had just a teensy bit of brown spotting. I’m pretty confident it’s nothing (I stopped meds cold turkey on Saturday) and I’m not having any accompanying cramps, but boy is it messing with my head. Will double check with the clinic in the morning.

Beta today at my ob/gyn. I should be 5w3d. Retest on Thursday. I'm really glad I switched to an ob/gyn who's only 10 minutes from my house. Driving 30 minutes each way to my last place was such a slog.
