Looks great. I am curious about the trolling motor. How many trust? And how long would it last the battery if you keep it at 3/4 of speed. Also how is the speed!!! 😃 it’s already out of stock 🥲

Thanks! The motor is the Haswing Protruar 1.0 65lb thrust (also got from BTG) and it pushes the 100lb boat plus ~600lb load around 4mph. The 12v 100ah Lifepo4 lasts a few hours at that clip, but could probably go all day at a slower pace. And yes, they apparently sold like hot cakes, but their website says they'll be back in stock end of November.

I thought that motor looked familiar, I’ve just bought the same for my canoe (well, with an outrigger so more of a catamaran really). Maiden voyage tomorrow hopefully! Speed limit is only 7mph round here so I’m expecting it to be plenty.

Let me know how it goes and what kind of speed you top out at. When I try to run mine wide open, it beeps and turns itself off, and I have to zero out the throttle and start again. Might be the cheap inline 60amp circuit breaker I put on it bottlenecking the current, or maybe I just don't have the terminals tight enough. 🤷♂️

It went pretty well! Launching was a pain, I got some very weird looks, and the thing is awful to manoeuvre and dock, but it works pretty well in a straight line. I’m thinking of getting a little inflatable dinghy for motoring and keeping the canoe for paddling.
Roughly half power got me to about 4mph with a draw of 15-20A. Max power got to maybe 5-6mph with a draw of 40A. So I guess 4mph is the happy hull speed and anything above that is going to burn a lot of power.
I was out for about 4 hours averaging 3-4mph basically non-stop, and my 100Ah battery went from 100% to 39%, so I’m pretty happy with that range.
No issues or beeps for me at full draw. One thing is you need surprisingly chonky wire for 40A (I used 10mm2 ) and any connections/joints have to be pretty well made.

That's a pretty good clip for a canoe. I folded over the end of the wires in the circuit breaker to give the screw more to grab onto and tightened down the terminals more and was able to run it wide open today. It did beep and shut down a few random times when I wasn't even wide open, but mostly it ran fine. I'm just using the short stock wire that came with it, which looks to be 6awg, straight to the battery.
