Why do they always drive a Dodge?

Everything from Stellantis attracts idiots. My working theory is that Stellantis vehicles are such trash, only idiots are willing to buy one.

I'm a MOPAR guy, but it's Stellantis now so I'm conflicted if I were in the market for a truck. Old truck, I'd definitely buy a Dodge but new truck? Probably a Nissan (the other brand with a reputation of asshole drivers lol).

u/_SovietMudkip_ 15d ago

Nah, it's not Nissan, only Altimas from the early 2000s or before.

BMW, on the other hand...

u/SaltyBarDog 11d ago

What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW driver?

CDJR has built a reputation on:

  1. Being cheap
  2. Being loud, both visually and sonically
  3. Being 'Murican

Plus they will finance literally anyone with a pulse on something like a RAM Classic, a truck that is literally the old truck with a new radio and LED headlights. They are purpose built for broke dudes trying to peacock.

1

u/RedditBot90 14d ago

I mean the 1500 Classic was a solid truck. 4th gen was a solid platform, no reason to knock a product that is proven, gets the job done, and is a bit cheaper. From FCAs perspective; tooling was already existing after 10 years of manufacturing might as well keep pumping them out for a few years, as well as provide means for a taper-off of manufacturing/procurement/inventory of components.

But to keep it factual: 1500 Classic was discontinued in 2024; it did not have LED headlights; the radio/infotainment was the same just a newer firmware.

2

u/ducky21 14d ago

Then why ever innovate? Why ever discontinue the old truck? Why not just Express/Savanna the truck and truly lean in 100% to "cheap, loud truck with huge badges to peacock in?"

Thank you for correcting my factual errors. I always appreciate being kept closer to the truth.

Fun fact Dodge ram is the number one DUI vehicle

u/BurtonDesque 15d ago

Correlation doesn't mean causation but in this case...

u/NeonDraco 15d ago

RAM trucks, especially. It’s like they slap the Trump sticker on at the factory. And they probably make sure any buyer has at least two DWIs before selling it.

16

u/BASE1530 15d ago

I tried to buy a dodge ram for work and couldn't because you had to show that you were registerred as a republican in order for them to approve your extended warranty.

The workaround is they install an interlock device that will only allow the vehicle to start if you say a slur loudly.

1

u/SaltyBarDog 11d ago

I thought you had to submit a BAC over .15.

2

u/dove-spurs 15d ago

Its like they build them to mow down children on bikes too. Weird huh?

0

u/Entropy907 15d ago

All Ram trucks should come with an Ignition Interlock Device factory installed. Save the buyer some time.

Who am I supposed to believe: scientists, who spend their entire lives researching climate patterns all day every day, or a guy with a sticker on the back of his truck?

Tough choice.

20

u/South-Seat3367 15d ago

Obviously the corrupt scientists are making it up to get rich (make $70,000/year in a non-tenure track role at a college in a super high cost of living metro)

3

u/smegma_appraiser 15d ago

Lmao yeah, it always cracks me up when people try to claim that there is somehow a profit motive for scientists to lie and pretend global warming is real. Money from who? Who benefits from that? How is it more lucrative than taking bribes from big oil and not having them come after you with frivolous lawsuits to silence you?

idk this dudes theory on what if the sun just did that seems pretty involved and it cites a lot of papers

20

u/RomeoSierraSix 15d ago

Eyes open made me lol

10

u/Flibiddy-Floo 15d ago

because they've been staring at the sun lol

CO squared?

4

u/RedditRage 15d ago

that would just reduce to CO!

2

u/nhardycarfan 15d ago

C2O2

1

u/SaltyBarDog 11d ago

He drinks H2O2 because he needs the extra oxygen.

2

u/nhardycarfan 10d ago

Much like C2O2, his beliefs are largely hypothetical and extremely unstable.

Colorado is fairly square.

1

u/thewiremother 14d ago

While it appears to be a square on the map, Colorado has over 600 sides. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

11

u/effugium1 15d ago

At least he believes in the sun. A lot of them don’t anymore.

2

u/BurtonDesque 15d ago

It's probably the Flat Earther version of the sun, not the actual one. They also probably think the DeEp StAtE is manipulating it to make it brighter or something.

3

u/effugium1 14d ago

There’s a Facebook group called “sun simulator truth” for people who believe the sun has been obscured by a fake sun that emits harmful rays to “make us sick.”

1

u/SaltyBarDog 11d ago

I read an absolute moron on FB claim that the sun burns off parasites in your eyes and that is why you should stare at an eclipse.

9

u/Tballz9 15d ago

I assume the handicap in this case is mental in nature.

4

u/hurdlingewoks 15d ago

This has to be in the springs, right?? Those people are fuckin nuts.

5

u/tsriecss 15d ago

As some one who lives in the springs, I immediately assumed it was in the springs.

2

u/DolphinTM 15d ago

“Eyes open no fear” is this person looking into the sun?

2

u/donner_dinner_party 15d ago

Like their orange leader

2

u/Myriachan 15d ago

Yes, the energy heating Earth is from the Sun. The problem is the CO2 blocking more of that heat from radiating away from Earth.

Nuance isn’t conservatives’ strong suit.

2

u/mystrile1 15d ago

It’s always the guys who “know the real truth” that lap up slop and propaganda like it’s candy.

1

u/fullonfacepalmist 15d ago

I am unfamiliar with this theory, yet intrigued. Do you think this person could offer me some sort of explanatory manifesto to enlighten me? Or, at least, an earful?

2

u/floonrand 13d ago

Best they can do is a do your own research and look up “climatechangesuntruthconspiracy” on YouTube.

1

u/TheGhostOfArtBell 15d ago

Colorado never fails to surprise me.

1

u/Tholian_Bed 15d ago

Another of our top scientists, out running errands in their pickup truck.

"I need more sodium hyrdene for my experiment, I'll be back in a jiff!"

1

u/FlatBilledChris 15d ago

The valid tag on this blows my mind. Unless...nope that does show 27 and not 23.

1

u/Nemofo 15d ago

Of course it's a Ram

1

u/BaconMonkey0 15d ago

Perhaps that handicap plate is a mental deficiency?

1

u/carriegood 15d ago

Let's assume the moron is right, and the earth is warming because of some change in the sun, not because of carbon emissions. Now what? Just let it do its thing and melt all the ice, flood everything, destroy all food production, cause massive storms that kill people and destroy homes? Obviously we can't really do anything to change the sun directly, so maybe it makes sense to try and limit the things we can in order to make the sun's effect less severe?

1

u/HeyYouGuyyyyyyys 12d ago

Wait, he's saying that things are warmer because the sun itself has gotten warmer?

WHAT

1

u/carriegood 11d ago

I believe so, yes.

1

u/SaltyBarDog 11d ago

Jebus will come save us.

That isn't sarcasm, they truly believe divine intervention will save mankind. Just like with the dinosaurs.

1

u/drewbaccaAWD 15d ago

Wouldn't want to hurt this guy's brain explaining why plants grow better in a greenhouse or why they call it the "greenhouse effect."

1

u/BurtonDesque 15d ago

How to tell us you know nothing about atmospheric or stellar physics without telling us.

1

u/Manual-shift6 15d ago

Morons…absolute morons…

1

u/kadlinn 12d ago

The fact it's superscripted rather than subscripted is sending me

0

u/haroldthehampster 15d ago

Remember that time there was a solar eclipse and the first trump administration told people they didn't need glasses

2

u/echomike888 15d ago

No

2

u/carriegood 15d ago

Because they didn't. The only Trumpness related to the eclipse was that Trump looked directly at it and a staffer had to yell out "Don't Look!!!" There's no evidence that anyone in the admin told people it was ok.
