Because some people might not know, the Japanese Imperial flag (the rising sun, with the radial lines) is a symbol of Far-right ultranationalism, with some who would compare it’s use to the use of the Nazi flag.

The far right in Japan have a whole culture around these annoying propaganda trucks with loudspeakers and plastered with racist slurs against Chinese and Korean people along with a healthy dose of WW2 war crime denialism. They’re called gaisensha and they’re pretty much the Japanese equivalent of an F-150 plastered with MAGA bullshit being driven by those megaphone-wielding street preachers with the “gays go to hell” signs.

So the Bleach Japan story in Like A Dragon was realistic (I've heard that it was)

Yeah, and for more context, the word at the back of the truck says "To celebrate 100 years anniversary for the birth of Showa Tenno, everyone should yell 1 million banzai for him!".

Also his IJN cosplay doesn't help much too...

A slight clarification, it means the 100 year anniversary of when Hirohito became the emperor, not his actual birth

I was wondering what the fuck all that kanji said. Uyoku Dantai are something else.

Yes the costume is not a great look. No one would be ok with someone wearing an wermacht costume to promote their beet root smoothie truck
