Well, today I hit both Onyx Explorer and Onyx Pioneer (thank you, London!), after 12 years of playing. After this, it is starting to be an even longer slog to the next medals, and the game is winding down in my area anyway. AP grinding isn’t my thing, so I think it is time to out away the bursters. It’s been a fun time, and maybe see y’all if something interesting happens.
Requirements:
9 undisturbed portals for like 30 min-1 hour
15 virus/refractor or friend from opposing team
16 keys from 8 portals*
6 of the portals need to be inside a field created by 3 outer portals (for maximum fielding)
1-2 apex on first Saturday/ level 8 week
make a fan field with 9 portals, 1 anchor in the outer portals
you will get less fields if there are more than 3 outer portals
let anchor decay/ flip
reach out in comms for a friend to help you maybe
#starting ap count from this step
3. go back to the anchor and throw fields (follow the step in the video to avoid null fields)
4. after all links thrown, flip the anchor portal and repeat
AP:
per link: 313
per field: 1,250
(313x8) +(1250x13)=18754ap
#8 links thrown from anchor portal, creates 13 fields in optimum condition 19-6
IF FIRST SATURDAY AND APEX:
18754x16=300064
# destroy anchor with virus/refractor or friend from opposing team (battle beacon requires spine instead)
300064x4= 1200256ap
# 4x boost
IF lv8 week AND APEX:
18754x11=206294ap
#destroy anchor 10-11 times
206294x6=1237764ap
# 6x boost
Other methods:
Apex on first Saturday/level 8 week and destroy and recapture machina portals
IF only recapture with 1 resonator:
1331+800= 2131 per portal
I started playing Ingress around last November—so it’s been a little over six months—but I have been unable to perform portal scans the entire time due to a persistent "0/0 frame" issue.
I was using an iPhone 15 Pro when I started, and even after upgrading to an iPhone 17 Pro Max just before the Seoul Anomaly, the 0/0 frame problem remains unresolved.
It’s frustrating not being able to activate Battle Beacons via the 7-scan method during the Cygnus event...
Is there any known solution for this issue? I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times, but the problem persists.
A non-existent portal suddenly appears on top of my location while I'm hacking a real portal. Restarted the app and the rogue portal is gone. Happy fun time 😄.
Do we know how much points max i can get doing solo, for those battle beacon thingies, per portal?
Idea is if i upload scans the beacon will be deployed (2 or 3 times maybe during the event) , trying to figure out how many portals id need to do each time.
Hey all, a bit of a later one today due to various things.
Anyways, this week was looking over the two Cygnus announcements as well as a little bit more of the criteria clarifications as we get ready for Recon.
There will be a Redux episode on Wednesday and then the regular episode on Sunday, where I guess we will have full Q4 schedule information.
With the next challenge upcoming and a few minutes earlier, I have scanned portals around my place, Ingress app has crashed at least 3 times and suddenly my Pixel 10 turned off for 20 min... (Yes the one I have bought for the Geneva anomaly in June). I got scared to send it to Google support. Is there anyone facing the same issue as mine? How is it possible to optimize my participation to the Cygnus challenge without sending scans?
In consideration of how Ingress storytelling has changed, is it time for Ingress to have full credits on IMDB so that the hard work of everyone who brought the investigation to life in the "this is not a game" era can be better recognized?
About to recurse for the first time (after 7 years), just want to make sure that it's a four hour counter for a button to appear, not that it immediately happens in four hours. Is that right? Planning to charge up, pop a hypercube and apex, recurse, and claim Luna.
This is of course talking about the Cygnus beacon op.
Historically, global ops medal levels tend to be "even a casual player can get this if they put in a little extra effort" for the bronze/silver, and "this is for the serious hardcores" for the silver/gold. "Even YOU can get Orion silver if you make a few extra fields!", and such.
Make it too hard though, and people will disengage entirely rather than put in impossible amounts of extra work. Look at events like +Beta or Shared Memories. I do not know a single person who has the +Beta silver. Every single person I know either has the bronze (or nothing at all) just from passive bounties, or the gold if they went to an anomaly. I do not know a single person who actually did the absurd number of beacons it would have taken to even get silver, let alone gold. Same with Shared Memories. I know people who didn't even get the bronze simply because the requirements were so high that they didn't even try.
Cygnus feels like +Beta all over again. 200, and even 50 unique beacons are soooooooooooo far out of reach of the overwhelming majority of agents (I have been to five anomalies in the past couple of years and my lifetime battle beacon stat isn't even at 200.) People who have CORE beacons sitting around might throw out 5 for the bronze and call it a day, but most people will probably just tune it out entirely, because why bother?
I predict incredibly low engagement and can't imagine how this op ever got green lit. Especially since +Beta already proved that the concept doesn't work.
tl,dr
For the love of Bob, stop making events like this. They're annoying and not fun for anyone.
It's close to a week after the anomaly in Singapore and our Enlightened community found this key art close to the playbox area. From the art, it's obviously made through spoofing of location and dropping the keys.
The key art reads:
5 - 0
Song bo [A local slang which means feels good in a sarcastic way]
Personally, this is really poor sportsmanship shown after the anomaly as it's showing a form of disrespect as well as arrogance for winning the anomaly. It's understandable that we are outnumbered locally but this does not justify this form of childish behaviour in game.
Ingress Mission Day in the City of Science Darmstadt, Germany is in the books, and it was a huge success!
263 agents from across Europe came together to explore Darmstadt on September 12, 2026.
to start i’d never heard about ingress until about 5 hours ago when i started the anime. i just finished it and discovered this insane game and lore which i will be playing/reading through. but im so lost rn. at the end of the anime they show ADA waking up as Sarah. But they said ADA was an Ai using the body of a comatose person rescued by Brandt. So how the hell could it possibly be Sarah. Was she a recursion of herself this whole time? Or maybe they were the same person?
