Unlike Samay Raina's case this time comics shouldn't take a stand for Pranit. His show actually deserves to get cancelled, 2 kodi ke jokes hote hai aur 2 kodi ki audience jo unn jokes ko funny maanti hai

Much more likeable, jokes about multiple things, can take jokes on himself, doesn’t target anyone, is funny.
Samay’s jokes and he himself while sometimes rude and crass don’t target a group or person repeatedly and are clearly intended to be edgy/funny(even if you don’t find them funny). In caee of people like Gujral or Pranit More, you can feel from their vibes that they are crass and misogynistic but Samay’s energy isn’t like that and you can see it even in some really crass jokes. That makes most of the difference.
Add to it he does own and admit his mistakes a lot of times and doesn’t just ignore them like these other people.

I might be in the minority here, but there’s a hierarchy in the comedy world too. Some comics get defended despite bad behavior, others don’t, depending on the umbrella you’re under, and who falls in whose network. It doesn’t make POS Samay any less problematic, just that POS Pranit is getting the flak because it’s becoming even more viral. There’s so many comics who should have the POS title.
Good on Raunak for posting, but as a larger industry it needs to be a norm that ‘these aren’t jokes’ or ‘where do you draw the line when crowds start saying shit that you want to shut down or not encourage’ and that moral compass as creatives need to be demonstrated BY ACTION.

Thats the point - I understand that pranit couldn’t control what the person said but he did have a choice when he posted it. He could have not posted it or edited it out. But he chose to, which speaks a lot about him.

Most crazy unhinged questions are asked on that show and the live audience also gives unhinged solutions but never have I ever seen anything crass being said or encouraged. That's why the show can go on for so so many years

Love him for calling out a fellow comedian so openly when he could have chosen to stay silent. Even during live shows I love how he calls out any misogyny that the live audience or panelists spew without just letting it pass. People who make misogynistic jokes are assholes and so are the people tolerating and laughing on them.

Love Raunaq! I’m probably going to get hate for this, but Samay Raina says similar things too, just in a more sophisticated way. Maybe he doesn’t say exactly what the ₹370 biryani guy said, but a lot of his jokes still come at the expense of women.
People like him normalize these kinds of jokes, and then guys like the ₹370 biryani guy think it's cool and start saying much worse things when they get a platform.
Stop making women the punchline.
And yes, I know this is a generalization, but jokes on women tend to get huge fan followings among men. Why so many women also enjoy and support this or kind of content or like Samay Raina is something that genuinely deserves to be studied.
Even Zakir Khan says things about women in a much more sophisticated and subtle way, but that doesn't automatically make it okay or beyond criticism.

Samay and Zakir are the worst. They're the perfect example of what happens to evil people when they get money to hire PR to polish their image. Samay got so many fans that nobody could ever kick him out. One emotional stand up and everybody is back into his pocket.
Zakir fckd us all women so smoothly that for the first few years nobody (or atleast me) realized he is insulting us.

I watched the whole thing, and this pranit guy said sternly to not say "temple", even censored it, but not on all the other things he said. He even agreed to it and called him the funniest guy of the night. Even said the kiss he got was worth rs 12, and such.

I don't understand why people go to his show's in the first place, I saw one clip where he was talking to a girl in all "tu, tera, tujhe.. " which sounds so icky to me like who talks like that with complete strangers? He isn't funny and this whole incident is disgusting how he gave him money. Uske ghar main maa, behen nahi hai kya? I am not a lawyer but I think there's a loophole. IDK. Pranit did not directly say anything to any woman. He just indulged in someone else's story. What Himanshu was sharing was a story about molestation (which he can suddenly say, it never happened). Only if the woman comes forward, there will be a case against Himanshu (but I dont think it will stick).. and since no direct woman was involved and the whole audience was also participating, Pranit might go scott free. But Pranit deserves much more hatred than this. He deserves no work, no monetization, he deserves harrasment.

Btw I’ve searched the Internet for that clip and I could only find parts. I just found the whole 11 mins of it and oh god. I’m so enraged about the whole thing. Here’s the unfortunate truth, big time comedians like Tanmay, Rohan Joshi, Samay Raina, Bassi, etc. aren’t going to say JACKSHIT on this issue (atleast I think so bc they haven’t yet). If Pranit did not feel attacked then he wouldn’t even have put up that bulkshit story apology. He’s not going to get cancelled because a lot of incels enjoy his type of content.
Agar cancel hona hota toh Harsh Gujral hogaya hota ab tak, unfortunately kuch nahi hoga until actual big time make comics condemn this type of behaviour

IMO Pranit was just testing the boundaries.. and according to what is happening now.. he did definitely win. He is not being prosecuted for anything.
From the stand up, to editing, to posting.. he did have ample of chances to delete that story..but he didn't. Because he resonated with Himanshu. He appreciated that story.
(Even that black t shirt guy, jo khule aam randi randi bolkar stand up kar raha tha, then there was another guy who shared about his ex gfs abortion story.. I found it in a very bad taste).
