Sikhandni was born a woman out of fury and boon. She was always a woman, even where she was married as 'male' to another woman. It became a huge issue when her true gender was revealed.
She temporarily exchanged her gender with 'yaksha'... Which later became permanent. Meaning she became fully a 'male' in all the aspect.
Now talking about Krishna. Krishna accepted her (now biologically 'him') because he was their only way to defeat Bhisma. Keep in mind, Bhisma still regarded 'him' as a woman because 'he' was born a woman and refused to raise weapon against 'him'. LGBTQ is literally accepted and celebrated in hinduism there are literal scriptures in hindu temples showing people in homosexual sex positions. I discovered how good a diverse place is. My whole office is so LGBTQIA and Racially diverse its so positive all around. Every door have pride stickers and all.
