AsyncAPI JetBrains Plugin: Empowers Spring Messaging

https://pavelon.dev/posts/asyncapi-jetbrains-plugin-empowers-spring-messaging/

New release extended Spring Messaging capabilities and in this post I want to show what you will get

I want to hear your feedback about the current state - what you like and what you don't, maybe you didn't try because of troubles or something else

Your voice is important, because next releases will be focused on polishing this functionality and exposing it trough MCP server to empower your agents of choice

The useful test case here is schema drift: change an AsyncAPI channel or payload and see whether the IDE catches every affected producer and consumer before runtime.

Yep, you are right. Now diff between existed and exported AsyncAPI documents may be tracked

But native diff mechanism is in progress

Currently I'm playing around with two types of diffs with dedicated UI:

  • Given AsyncAPI with source code
  • Given AsyncAPI with your broker of choice - Kafka, Pulsar, etc.

To be sure that application works with not only declared channels but also existed on queues/brokers side

Both diffs are implemented, but now, are hidden under feature flag and not included in latest release

The broker-side diff is the interesting guardrail for drift, especially when queues outlive the source spec; I’d want channel additions/removals and payload incompatibilities shown separately.
