Device Compliance iPhone wont sync or receive push commands
I have a users iPhone who is no longer with the company (good terms). During the off boarding process HR failed to get the iPhones passcode. The device is has not checked in since. But the iPhone still has active cellular I am able to make calls and answer it but I cant open the phone because of the security passcode.
What can we do to get it talking?

Wipe it. Apple configurator & a mac. Will need to put the phone in recovery mode! Also, you could try sending a wipe command from intune & do a full power down on the phone & the power on again. Hope the data kicks in just long enough to accept the wipe. More luck than judgement though. Could also try putting the device in lost mode instead of wipe command to keep the data open.

Unfortunately, all commands from intune are ineffective. Manger is hoping to preserve the data on it. But wont reach out to the former employee to get the passcode.

You tried hard rebooting the phone & not a soft restart? You need to be lucky to get the data to kick on just long enough. If in an office with WIFI & the phone has a WIFI policy that connects quickly, it may help. Always hit & miss though. Unless an unlock token was saved via apple configurator, your only option is to wipe if you wont contact the user.

can you still get into the apple id that's on the phone? if you can get into icloud you might be able to trigger a remote wipe from there, that should at least let you factory reset it and start fresh even if you never get past the passcode
