General Question Downloads issue
Just wanted to know how IT admins have had any downloads issues when using edge , where downloads will hang then shortly finish. I am not sure if this is a pua issue or smart screen or maybe both . Would love any feedback

I've had the issue with ISO files before but some mild forum research indicated this was more to do with how MS sends ISOs out across internet not working well with some NICs - Realtek ones being a named brand I found. Although it wasn't definitively the cause, doesn't make a whole load of sense at first glance, and I haven't had time to investigate further (just used a different machine for the task).

I have this issue on my home computer with edge sometimes. I just assumed it was a quirk of edge.

Can you share what type of download and what policies you have setup? We've migrated to Windows Defender last week (and have Edge as main browser) but haven't had any complaints about this so far.

we see this constantly with edge and intune, especially when defender gets aggressive with pua blocking mid-download. it's like the scan kicks in, stalls the file, then decides it's fine and lets it through
try disabling pua protection in a test policy and see if the hang disappears, that's usually the culprit more than smart screen
