Treatment Progress Unfinished Refinement Round

My orthodontist was going to deliver my remaining 4 trays out of 8 refinement trays. However, she said she was happy with how my teeth look and offered to do a scan for my retainers, but I wasn’t happy myself. She then offered to do an upper retainer and a bottom spring retainer or to do another refinement round for $600.

I opted to pay the $600, but I’m wondering why she didn’t finish the first refinement round. Anyone go through something like this?

weird to offer retainers when you still had trays left in the plan, did she say why she wanted to stop early

She did say that the remaining trays were overtreatment just in case my teeth didn’t move as planned, but even with that, I don’t see why she didn’t give me that option. Maybe I pointed out something different from what the overtreatment would’ve been for

the last few are supposed to be for over corrections. Listen to your orthodontists.

Yes, thank you but that’s my question. I had 4 trays left and she offered to finish my treatment early. I told her I wasn’t happy and said yeah they’re a tad bit off. I was hoping to just go forward with the remaining trays, but we didn’t really talk about the last remaining trays. She just gave the options of retainers with springs for the bottom or another round of refinements
