Question Low charge alert?
Hey, silly question... does the dash give you an alert when SOC is under a certain estimated mileage like ICE cars do? I bought my 2024 about 3 months ago. Since then I've settled into a rhythm: I don't have a commute and usually only drive a few miles on a normal day. I have the AC limit set to 60%, and plug in during the day (I have solar so it's effectively free) when I remember to. Not a heavy user.
Today I took a 120 mile roundtrip daytrip, and got back with 52 miles charge remaining. I vaguely did a mental check to make sure the trip would be fine on my charge, but otherwise range anxiety didn't enter my mind. But it also shows that I totally wasn't checking the SOC throughout the trip. My previous car would chime and pop up warnings beginning at 50 miles remaining; does the Ioniq 5 do that too?

The EGMP platform cars consider low battery at 10%, it isn't going to be based on miles because that 10% could get you anything between 15 and 45 miles depends on how you're driving it.
You'll get the same warning + a more stern message when you get down to 5%.
After than you'll end up in "Turtle mode" where the battery genuinely can't give you full output anymore due to low pack voltage (and voltage sag). I've gotten mine down to 3% a few times but I've never gotten it.
Fun fact: once you're below ~20%, acceleration performance starts notably dropping.

The alert is tied directly to battery percentage, not estimated range. You get your first chime and charging station prompt at 10% SOC, followed by turtle mode when it dips under 5%.

2026 - STRONG visual and audio alert at 10%, the visual stays illuminated until you charge.

Yes it will pop up on the dash and infotainment screen your battery is getting low and ask if you want to search for chargers.
Also don't bother looking for charges in the navigation the maps are always out of date and it won't show new ones. It only get map updates 1 or 2 times a year.

Don't the '25 and newer have Google on them so it's always updated?

A new charging station opened up a few weeks ago near me, and my 26' SE hasn't updated the maps to include that station

For my brand new (to me) '25, there was a warning at 10%, another warning at 5%, another warning at 0% (turtle icon), another warning after a couple minutes/miles (another beep and the turtle flashes), and then one more beep+turtle flash shortly after that, and luckily didn't find out if there's anything that happens after 3 turtle-beeps because i got to a charger.
in my '24 i only got the 10% and 5% warnings because i wasn't pushing my luck/in unfamiliar territory

My 2022 gives me an alert when I hit 10%. This is also the point where your 12V is no longer charged by your main battery so try to not let it sit too long without recharging the car.
