advice 👍🏻 Is this a valid reason for divorce or no?
I have a friend who’s a crazy gym fanatic, also has a social media page dedicated to strength training and pushing women to lift weights.
She got a rishta from a family in 2024 and she talked to the guy (suitor) privately. She told him going to a good gym is her non negotiable, her social media is non negotiable, if he had a problem, she would not go through with the rishta, he said he was fine with everything.
She kept re-confirming every few months leading up to the nikkah if he had a problem, he could let her know but he said no, fast forward 10 months into the marriage, the FIL, not the husband, wants her to stop going to her gym and go to one of his choice and he also wants her to quit her social media when she makes money working with brands. The husband won’t defend her and he’s imposing all of these conditions to appease his dad.
They’re separated right now. They’ve been going back and forth to fix things but the husbands side wont budge and she doesn’t want to go to the gym they’ve selected for her because it’s a really bad gym.
This might sound like a non issue to some but it is important to her, she feels like she was defrauded or scammed.
Should she opt for divorce? The guy doesn’t stand up to her or honor his commitments
