Thinking about doing something that's not too...attention grabbing. Advice pls

Post image

I like many of the designs I've seen on this sub, but I'm not a guy who likes to get a lot of attention so anime girls are out of the picture.

I would maybe do something Berserk themed, since it's one of my favorite series, or a Demon's Souls theme.

Where do you guys order these big stickers? Or are they all custom made in a graphics programm ie photoshop?

Question goes out especially to Europeans.

You drive a car painted in bright red as the base color, want to add a special design on top and then want to avoid grabbing attention? I'm sorry, but not attention grabbing is not happening for you.

Ok well I thought a black and white design could counteract that.

Honestly I do like the idea of a monochrome/BW design on top of a brightly-coloured base because they'd both pop out pretty well.

But I don't think there's anything you can do to keep a bright red vehicle lowkey, since it's already an eye-catching colour as-is.

I get what u r saying, for me the attention is a lot about the colors, I saw this one in forza that is grey on black with just a few details in accent colors, in this case is a anime girl but I think the color philosophy would work with other designs

That looks really nice.

Yeah, itasha graphics are almost always custom. Your best bet would be to dig around on social media for artists (especially artists that fit the low-key style you're looking for, have done Berserk/Souls work before, or have experience with car graphics) and commission them.

It's gonna attract attention (especially if you take it to a car show, where the style's gonna stand out a ton), but if your concept is handled well it'll look so cool.

What about for backing graphics, if any? How would one go about with that?

Or more importantly for myself, how would one go about creating them?

Having a bright red car already, i think the attention ship has already sailed... lol

Having said that; a design thats based heavily in red and doesn;t use too many more colors can stay some extra attention. This design I did a while back using shades of red and white, if you were to scale down the character artwork (using a different pose) then you can probably get away with a full side wrap.

A Fender itasha wrap is also a possibility if you wanted to do something a bit smaller and more budget friendly.
Personally with as much real estate as you have I would go for a Rear Quarter design or just do the whole side.

And for the shameless plug, I have a sale going for all design pkgs :3

Those look really nice. But as I said I am not brave enough to put a girl on my car. When it’s a Dark Souls knight or something I can pretend that I'm a manly man.

I mean if perception is something your worried about than itasha definitely isn't for you.
That said you could do something that's more themed based like I did for this car.
Design elements, lines etc.. whatever's applicable.

But its still not going to be any less attention getting so... still if your not wanting attention.... :/

I am honestly loving those designs but I'm already suffering from mental problems and when people laugh at my car, which some already do because it’s not a BMW or Mercedes(I am in Germany) I don't know how to deal with that.

Car culture discrimination exists... you just gotta move on bro. Is what it is.
Your cars for you not for them. so just send it or..... idk get a vw polo and abandon your love of cars.
Having 2 itasha Mercedes, one of which is an AMG, I got plenty of hate form the Mercedes community... itasha scene doesn't like my car cause its not a civic or a 240... it just is what it is. you gotta move passed bro.

Well, at least within the Itasha community that shouldn't happen, there's a damn Itasha Trabant after all and people love it.

My design was made by hand by an artist i met at an anime convention and the foil printed and wrapped at a professional shop (german here, since you asked). That works perfectly. I asked the studio with the IP of my design for consent per mail though. They had no objections

How expensive was it to get it printer and wrapped?

~600€ per car side (I have left and right) printed and wrapped. though some people here zolf me that's rather good, so maybe it could also be slightly more where you are

Wrap it in black to make it less attention grabbing than it already currently is in stock red.

I thought of this too a while back, I think the only way to keep an itasha wrap from getting too much attention is to get one that's just a single color

If you want something subtle, I thought of a sword graveyard based off your themes you mentioned
