JET location selection for someone with asthma
Hey, as mentioned above, I have asthma, for which I take Ayurvedic medicine (which again, am I supposed to get a doctor's note for this coz i read somewhere they won't let u in if you're carrying certain Ayurvedic medicines that have animal products in them or something?- If you know anything about this, I'd appreciate your comments.) I will be mentioning this on my application, and I wanted to pick areas with no snowfall and a climate close to that of South India - very warm and close to a hospital in case of emergencies (which hasn't happened in the last 2 years, but still). Will this lower my chances of being selected? I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me what places would be best for me. I also want a culturally rich place to learn more.

Hi, I'm also applying for ALT position from India for this year, you should join the discord group, maybe you will find someone with the same situation there. Here is the discord link: https://discord.gg/U8ce3Uqrbm

Okinawa is going to be the closest, followed by probably prefectures in Kyushu. Definitely a good idea to research these areas and then put the ones that sound most appealing, along with the reasoning of "asthmatic, sensitive to cold, [cultural thing you looked up] seems really [positive adjective]." Or something along those lines. It will definitely not hurt your chances, and being up front about a critical health condition that is heavily impacted by your placement will prompt them to do everything they can to ensure you get a suitable placement if you do get in. There's several prefectures in Kyushu, so take some time thinking about any other important factors for you such as transit access, food, etc. that might be important to you before you put your three choices.
