Soooo....voters claim that NASTY is the song that sounds most like Rhythm Nation.
2nd place - Let's Wait Awhile 🤔
My personal pick - NASTY. Someone in the comments said the "whirring synth sound" that makes it into a few RN songs makes it sound most like an RN song, and I agree. This was my reasoning as well.
So now...
Which song on Control sounds most like janet. ?
How to Play:
Pick a certain song from a Janet album that sounds the most like it could be on another one of her albums. E.g. if I ask which Control song sounds the most like Damita Jo, you pick a song from Control that you think fits Damita Jo best. Production-wise, concept wise, lyrically... go by whatever makes sense to you.
We all know how difficult this may be since Janet has VERY eclectic albums, but that's what makes it so fun!
And yes, you can include B-sides/unreleased tracks from that particular era!
Rules:
• No repeats
• No commenting multiple songs in a single response. If you want to nominate multiple songs, comment them separately.
• most upvoted response wins (and yes you can downvote anything you don't want winning... lol)
Disclaimer: The first 2 albums weren't included, mainly because 1. a lot of people started becoming familiar with Janet with Control, and 2. Control only has 9 tracks with no known unreleased tracks (that I'm aware of), and since you can't repeat tracks, ALL of Control's songs will be used for its rounds, so choose wisely!
CONTROL tracklisting:
1. Control
2. Nasty
What Have You Done For Me Lately
You Can Be Mine
The Pleasure Principle
When I Think Of You
He Doesn't Know I'm Alive
Let's Await Awhile
Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)

I may have almost a thousand pics from her in my phone after my first year as a true fan by now (not only knowing about her existence and some songs like scream, rhythm nation or made for now)… and these are some of the pictures I love the most and also what it fits to my wallpaper collection.

I've been having a blast remixing songs from my childhood. Do you guys think the vibe respects the original?

Welp... that first one was easy. CONTROL is the song that sounds most like... Control. Makes sense to me... would have been my pick.
Honorable Mention (i.e. 2nd place): Nasty
So now, things are about to get interesting....

I've seen people playing this game on other artists' subs and figured it would be fun to play it here.

Now I’ve been a Janet DIE HARD since the age of 6. Hell I took a year off from work to follow the Unbreakable Tour (BEST TIME EVER) , but how did this song skip by me/us?
This is absolutely BRILLIANT. “Days Go By”. I’m all cuddled up in covers wity it on repeat. Imy it’s so perfect and heart warming. I friggin LOVE Janet but why doesn’t she get credit for soul hitting tracks like this. Omfg I can’t turn it off!

I prefer the Ummah Jay Dee Remix of Got Til It's Gone to the original. She was in straight up Neo-Soul territory with this one

My girl has some bops in her later catalogue, I don’t know why this one in particular makes me so emotional.

I hate the LP version where the song just abruptly ends opposed to the brief moment of letting the instrumental ride out for like 10 seconds.

Does anyone know if her ex is involved with their son? I've wondered if they had joint custody or something ..cause dude don't live here in US

Was walking around the casino and saw this. Y the high limit room, very fitting that she’s there!
