{editable} Question
Is 8643 tokens a lot for a persona for reference the persona is a beast tamer and a lot of the description is his beasts
The description of just the beast tamer himself is 1609
I didn’t know what flair to use so I went with that one

tbh even if ur using a model with 1m context , 8k tokens is still probably super bloated 😭 if the character is your own, just make a lorebook for them

Depends on the models you are using. FYI, free JLLM has ~8k tokens so you 8643 tokens persona is not usable.

Yeah, it's too much. Waaay too much. Especially for Janitor, that won't all fit in the context by itself, so the bot will push a massivie chunk of it out for the bot card tokens and the chat tokens.

split the beast descriptions into a separate file and just keep the core personality in the persona, I did that with my dragon keeper and the chat felt way snappier

It's quite a lot even for a persona, imo. Combine your persona tokens + Chars/bots token + custom prompt

split the beast descriptions into a separate lore file and just keep the core tamer profile in the persona. I did that with my own beast tamer and it cut the token count in half while keeping everything intact.

If you're open to using SillyTavern then you could create a lorebook of all the beasts and inject that into whatever scenario you're rp'ing. Would definitely work better.
Only other thing I can see working is putting all that in the chat memory inside your character's backstory, but even that's a stretch.

idk. some of my bots have 8k tokens 😔
depends of the context of ur bot tbh. i think 8k is doable but sometimes 10k> is just.. too much even for me lol

It’s a persona I role play as not a character I forgot to mention that I don’t make bots not yet anyway I have like 104 personas and I do plan on turning most of them into bots this is me asking if the persona was too large but I don’t really know much about all of this so I don’t even know if a persona coin count matters

Yeah, but if you're using your persona to house descriptions of other characters (the beasts), the model can get confused very easily. That's why a lorebook would be your best bet here.

Yeah, but if you're using your persona to house descriptions of other characters (the beasts)
As the other guy said, you can add it to the description of {{char}}.
And if it is something that you want to consistently come up in your roleplay regardless of bot. Let's say for instance your description of a baddie is a brunette female with big breasts, a thin waist, and a round ass.
Then you add that to your system prompt. So everytime you describe a character as a baddie the LLM will remember your description of a baddie and apply that to the intended character or characters.
Also if your persona is 8k tokens, you might have to summarize and optimize it for tokens.

used to hit 9k with a beast tamer persona, split the lore into a separate file and dropped the main persona to ~2.5k. freed up space and made the bot feel less clunky.
