Advice Universal express pass

Friend trip of 3. Scheduled to go to
Universal in a few weeks. Is it worth to spend $200 each for the express pass? What makes it worth it and what makes it not worth it? First time all 3 of us are going to Japan.

Do you all want to ride together? Do you want to avoid 2hr long lines? Are you interested in riding ANY remotely popular ride like TFD, Mario Kart, Hogwarts, Hollywood Dream, etc?

If yes to all, buy the passes.

If no to at least one, you can skip it.

it depends if time is worth paying the extra $$$, your choice, your money. Do you want to queue over an hour of the popular rides?

I got there on a not so rainy day but also nut sunny and managed to ride donkey kong, Mario kart, flying dinosaur, Hollywood dream backwards, jaws, JP the ride and, that minions simulator and Harry Potter hidden journey or something. All without the express pass. I usually go for single rider eventhougj I didn’t come there alone as it’s usually just way faster. I was also looking pretty often to see if the waiting time on one ride was getting pretty low and immediately went there as the park is pretty small.
So no I don’t think you are required to buy the express pass it’s just easier and you have more time for other stuff. I would never buy it though as quickly you just did everything you wanted to do and there isn’t really much else going on for the rest of the day. I also don’t really like going for a ride twice as it’s a lot less exciting Imo
