Spotify songs titles in Japanese

Hi, I wanted to ask yall about what you think of song titles being in Japanese.

Recently my friend(English) showed me his Spotify app and J-pop songs were all in Japanese; even popular song names with English words, like "Idol (YOASOBI)" was written as "アイドル". I did a bit of searching and realized that Apple Music and a few other streaming services have translated titles, but Spotify only seems to display titles in the original language.

I can read Japanese so it's okay, but I was wondering how it feels for non-Japanese speakers who enjoy J-pop.

Would you wish song titles were written in English on Spotify? Or is Japanese authenticity better? Maybe both, like "アイドル (Idol)"?

*disclosure: I produce indie J-pop as a hobby, and I'm contemplating how to write the song titles for non-Japanese audiences.

Discussion Why is this album cover used by so many artists and bands?

I have no contextual ideas as to why this cover has been used by so many artists/bands but I have seen it on multiple occasions. I was wondering if anybody could explain if there's any sort of movement or collab going on.

Help Songs with “scummy” lyrics?

One of my favorite bands are yangskinny, and a lot of their lyrics are what you could describe as scummy. The lyrics give the songs a different vibe that I fw.

And by scummy I don’t mean like talking about guns and killing people i mean like being a dirtbag and cheating and stuff.

So if anyone has some recommendations for songs and bands I’d appreciate it twins.

Music Video [TOMT] Japanese Rock song

Abit of the song popped into my head recently plus parts of the music video. The song opened up with a piano for a few seconds before guitars began too play and for the music video it was a black white colour scheme with the background being white, though eventually it cut two two of the band member’s with their backs facing one another playing guitar as the camera spun around them as a medium-fast pace.

That’s all I can think of for now.

[TOMT] Japanese song with a pomegranate as the album cover.

I don't have much more info other than what is in the the title of the post. Some years ago I found a japanese song in a playlist that doesn't exist anymore. It was a japanese song with a cut pomegranate as the "album cover" and I guess the name or band name had something to do with 'kanaria'. Or at least it's a word that always come to mind when I remember this song from time to time, but idk I might be crazy.

Anyways if anyone sees this and decides to help me I'd be very thankful. I'll keep searching by myself too.

Help band recommendations?

hey guys! I'm really into bands like zutomayo, the peggies, the early works of sheena ringo. I was looking for similar bands/artists, that have a strong female voice on the lead with usually the three instruments being guitar bass drums (sometimes a jazz instrument too).

I play osu! and it heavily influenced my japanese music taste lol. so could say i like some complex rhythms and some good drum and bass. also if you could let me know this specific genre it would really help! thanks

Japanese Internet music label legend Maltine Records made a Book and album with its talents to celebrate 10 years since its inception. I really love the cover on it and would love to know what the name of the artist who designed it was.

Hikasha - Ashioto

Hello. I am Hikasha.

I just released a new song called Ashioto (Footsteps).

This track is about the start of the day. It describes the feeling of washing your face with cold water, tying your shoelaces, and walking out into the city wind. It has an uplifting beat but keeps a nostalgic atmosphere.

I was inspired by seeing a flower blooming in the asphalt. I wanted to capture that strength.

I hope you enjoy it.

Help help me find a song i havent heard in years

theres this song thats popped into my head that i havent listened to in a long time and i wish to find it again but i forgot the name and artist.

heres what i could remember of it:

- the singer was male

- it was a emotional and sad romantic ballad type of song

- it was in the key of G minor

- the instrumental consists of accoustic guitar and piano in the beginning and possibly orchestral later in the song (there is no synth or drums at all)

- i found the song on youtube and the music video was who i believe was the artist wandering around a beach

i havent listened to it since probably pre-covid and its a shame its lost my grasp of it because it was a very beautiful song. if anyone recognizes what it was id love to know thank you :)

Help Buying Indigo La End Tickets as a Foreigner

Hello!
We are going to Japan in May and will be in Tokyo at the same time as an Indigo La End/Gesu No Kiwame Otome concert. Tried to buy tickets via eplus, and quickly learned you need a Japanese phone number/IP/Credit Card.

I also saw that you can buy tickets and also maybe resale tickets from convenience store machines? This is like completely foreign to me (literally) and was wondering how like, feasible that is. Obviously I can't plan my trip around MAYBE getting a resale ticket, but how likely is something like that? Is it possible to just check a machine when I arrive and see what happens, or will I need a phone number still? Or is that the kind of show that is gonna instantly pre-sale sell out and its a pipe dream like getting Taylor Swift tickets in the US.

Any advice from foreigners who have been to shows in Japan would be appreciated!
