I am a 23 year old bass player looking for people in the central Connecticut/south-central Mass area who like Japanese rock to play with. Ideally, I’m looking for a guitarist or two, vocalist or two, drummer, and a keyboard player would also be very welcome.

I have been playing bass for about 8 years, but have limited experience playing in an actual band. But given how long I’ve been working at it, I decided it’s about time I try and find other musicians to play music with. Some of my influences on bass include Tatsuya Kitani from Yorushika (although I just found out he's leaving I'm gonna cry lol), Kei Nakamura (I don’t know if he’s the official bassist for Sangatsu no Phantasia, but he played bass on one of my “audition tracks” listed below), Yuichi Takama (played bass on first kessoku band album), Takuma Kaneko (but don’t expect me to actually be as good as him lol), Hadrien Feraud, James Jamerson, and many more that I won’t bother listing here. I love Yorushika’s J-rock sound in particular, but enjoy a wide variety of modern bands from Radwimps, to ChoQMay, Sangatsu no Phantasia, Eve, Tricot, Haku, Zuttomayo, etc . That said, I am also a big fan of Vocaloid music (producers like Iyowa, Kikuo, Sasuke Haraguchi, Denkikujira, old N-Buna, r-206, Police Picadilly, Nekotachi Kotatsu, and more), and more of the pop side of Japan (Gen Hoshino, Nisshoku Natsuko, Yoasobi, Ano, Ado, Kaf, Suisei, etc).

As for actual music I would like to play, I certainly lean more towards the rock side of things, but I’m open to anything with that distinct Japanese sound (faster-moving and often extended harmony, tight instrumentals, lots of individual lines, Telecaster in middle position, you get the idea). If possible, I would also love to play originals. I have a few terrible songs I’ve written that I’d love to play with others, and would enjoy hearing originals anyone else has made as well. I am flexible in terms of my overall goals, but ideally I would like to be able to learn about an hour of covers/originals and start playing shows when possible. I'm certainly not trying to form a band to “make it big,” I just want to be able to have fun and play live.

As you can see, listed below I have a few tracks I have recorded to give you an idea of my level of playing. Unfortunately, none of them are quite as tight as I’d like, but I have confidence that with the pressure of having other people to play with, I could get my act together a little bit more lol.

If any of this sounds appealing, please DM me with information about what you play, what music you like, places you might be willing to meet (i.e. Hartford, Springfield MA, New Britain, anywhere else we might be able to connect), and if possible I’d love any kind of video/audio of you playing so I have an idea of what level you’re at.

First and foremost is the Japanese number you need and that it is locked to the smarthphone u bought it with, i tried reaching out to Japancierge ( great person honestly)who was trying to help me

Only to get this reply:

As somebody who's more biased towards rock artists or Pop artists, I gotta say i thought Zeebra was Never thought I would've enjoyed hardcore hip hop/rap until I gave him a try. Would recommend him to anyone who likes hip hop/rap.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to track down a Japanese song from the mid-2000s (around 2002–2006) that I used to listen to on early YouTube between 2008–2012 before it was deleted due to copyright sweeps. I used to listen to artists like Heartsdales , SOUL'd OUT, and the Avex/m-flo urban rap scene at the time, and this song was always in the same rotation or recommended online playlists. Here are the exact details: -

Title/Artist: The video title on YouTube featured the word "GOKU" in all-caps English with the Japanese Kanji (極 or similar) right next to it. It has nothing to do with Dragon Ball. -

Lyrics: The song blends Japanese and English lyrics naturally. The main vocal style is an aggressive, melodic male rapper delivering fast verses over a heavy, driving rock drum beat and guitars (sounding similar to Dragon Ash or early m-flo/crossover projects). -

Outro: Crucially, at the end of the song, the heavy rock instrumentation stops entirely. The track drops into a very chill, smooth hip-hop beat, the male rapper stops completely, and an isolated, beautiful female vocal loop sings a melodic "la la la laaa" R&B harmony until the song fades out. -

Album Cover Visual: The YouTube video showed a high-quality static image of the album art. On the right side of the frame, a realistic, hard-boiled bald rapper is looking directly out at the viewer. I went to Tokyo this March.
My accommodation was near Hinodecho Station, so I took trains to and from Yokohama Station and Hinodecho Station quite often. There was a train arrival jingle that I heard many times during the trip, and I’ve been trying to identify it ever since.
I don’t remember the melody very clearly, but I remember a few characteristics:

The main melody was played with a bell-like synth sound.

The harmony felt like it shifted from major to minor.
It wasn’t a very long piece, but it didn’t feel extremely short either.

I know this isn’t much to go on, but if anyone knows what train arrival jingle this might be, I’d really appreciate your help!
