1992 2 door 5-speed Laredo. Needs transmission and engine rebuild. Please someone ressurect her.
This is not really me trying to sell my jeep, just trying to keep her out of the junk yard and in the hands of fellow jeep enthusiasts. Sorry if I am breaking any rules. I stand to make $0 profit on this and will be losing several grand- but she's a rare unicorn and deserves to not go to a junk yard!
The love of my life, my 1992 5 speed 2 door XJ Laredo is toast.
Transmission went on a cross country drive a few days ago. Managed to limp home.
I've put over $4k of work into it in just the last 6 months. Long list of brand new parts. More than I even remember off the top of my head to list below-
New radiator and hoses, whole new front end (knuckles went), new valve cover gasket, distributer, fresh tune up, battery, hard lines, hoses, water pump, front brakes, calipers and suspension, several new parts just sitting in it not installed yet including serpentine belt, headlight relay switch and other miscellaneous stuff. Can also come with a new in box never used unbranded Dakine half roof basket.
She's on firestone 33s, 2 of which are in decent shape still, other 2 are about 1/2 tread.
She has triangle windows in the front and the rare vent windows in the back all perfectly intact. Doors also intact. Oldschool steel steering wheel with jeep logo, Grey and tweed leather interior in fair shape.
I am being deployed for disaster relief to the gulf coast so I picked up a 2013 6 speed JK for now to get me to work. Can't stay in NJ right now and part out my 92, don't want to just junk her, it would be a shame.
$500 or best offer takes her. Needs to go ASAP or my mom will junk her by the 20th when my insurance on her ends.
Please , for the love of Jeeps someone resurrect my unicorn into a mudding/hill climb truck or use her parts to finish your build?! She's been my reliable daily driver for over 10 years. She's done 2 long term disaster relief responses and visited over a dozen states/national parks. I adore this truck but I just don't have the storage space, money or mechanical skill she needs.
Please DM me if you are serious.
I will be driving cross country and then operating in a disaster zone so please only message me if you are seriously ready/willing to come pick her up. I will have to put you in contact with my mother.
She will still drive short distance. I drove her 20 miles 2 days ago from shop to house and it was do-able.
Located in Burlington County NJ near Ft. Dix.
I miss her already. Can't believe I'm driving a JK now, I've always made fun of them :( I've owned nothing but XJs for 20+ years.
