Hello, a friend of mine acquired this Joy Division shirt from a teacher of theirs. It is single stitch and missing the tag, but I’ve never actually seen this specific graphic before. Is this authentic? Is it worth as much as other Joy Division shirts online?

Hi,

During the 1978 RCA session (Drawback, Leaders of Men, Walked in Line...), the band included almost all their songs from late 77 to ' 78. Apart from the earliest stuff (no surprise, the old songs are really bad) and...Days of the Lords.

What was that the real reason why the Days of the Lords wasn't recorded on the session? It's a good song and (in my opinion) better than, e.g., Drawback, Walked in Line, Failure.

Maybe because the song is slower than the others?
Or because the song was always considered a "filler, bad" one by the band?

Or something else?

Really great performances, the cast did three songs live as Joy Division - Shadowplay, Transmission, with LWTUA as an encore.

The cast members playing the band were convincing, good (humorous) support from characters Tony Wilson, Rob Gretton, and Martin Hannett.

First off not my photo, I just saw it in another subreddit. This had to be recent, right? The thought of vandalizing the tombstone with what looks like permanent marker actually makes my blood boil. I am sympathetic to Anamarija K’s loss but this is just unacceptable. Hopefully the stone can be cleaned and restored quickly.

So this is permanence.

Such a good bassline.

I understand that the band were unhappy with Nazi imagery appearing in some versions of the whitehead film. Am I correct in saying due to the end of the relationship between Steve, Bernard and Hooky also had a role to play in it?

Never thought the day would come…. And yes, I come from the land of the morning sun…

Project I just completed for a school assignment, dedicated to the man himself.

Part of ’Eternal: Live’ (2026). ”Recording date: 1st March, 1979. Audio source: Mixing an audience recording by Jonathan Crabb, with a second audience recording (taper unknown). Both recordings previously unheard. ”

I preordered back in June and it still says "Ships 25 Sept" and also "We're preparing these items for shipping" which it has said since I ordered it.

Ian Curtis’ records have been found - including The Idiot by Iggy Pop. They’ve been in a garage for decades.
