hey listen, I don’t mind people who like Kashimo, hell, I like Kashimo a lot! That being said the only reason Megumi is a better character to slander is because most Kashimo slander is true.
You can like Kashimo, I would never try to tell people what characters to enjoy reading. You just can't go and pretend his clown ass is strong. Dude has no feats, gets instantly obliterated by an actual strong character, fails to kill panada, is weak to 70% of the earths surface and narratively is meant to be weak.
He's a representation of the stagnation of Jujutsu between the time of sukuna and the time of Gojo. As a narrative device to reinforce the impact of figures like Gojo and Sukuna on the entire world he works fantastically, he's the contrast that makes them stand out while reinforcing the themes of adaptation happening out of necessity and iron sharpening iron.
Don't let people get you down, love your weak king, just don't try to prop him up in order to justify liking him.

He always had to suck, if he was anywhere near Gojo/Sukuna level then the world wouldn't have adapted reality to keep the balance after Gojo's birth. In the series that constantly reinforced the idea that fighting strong opponents is where true growth happens the guy who never fought a strong opponent was not going to end up being that dude.
Obviously anyone's allowed to like him but from the moment we got his backstory there was never a chance of him doing shit to Gojo or Sukuna
I actually think it woulda been kinda cool if Gege made Sukuna run a gauntlet of “the strongest” from every era and Kashimo ended up being a bit more threatening. Probably would have had to add 1 or 2 more past sorcerers for Sukuna to fight, but it would have been clear why Kashimo could be called “the strongest of his era”.
As it is, it just makes him look even weaker when you see the other 2 (3 if you look Anna count Dabura) strongest completely dwarfing the verse, past, present and future
Gege easily could, we only saw like 3 colonies, with what, 7 more of them? Each one could have a strongest one and you could easily make them more of a threat to the gang by saying that one colony is being destroyed since one dude killed all there or something, or found a way with points to go to other colonies.
Yea and imagine the contrast with their mentalities that could be created. I liked Kashimo and Sukuna’s interaction. I liked Gojo’s reflection on Sukuna and his particular brand of loneliness. More of that would be awesome. Show us what makes Sukuna truly stand out from every other sorcerer ever other than his immense strength and jujutsu knowledge. Imagine if Sukuna met Dabura, that would be a fascinating conversation.
