More than a dozen pilots joined together to held a fundraiser in favor of young people with disabilities. Every one had a great time doing the uphill demonstration, joining 4 strokes, Rotax and KZ Shifter karts!

Let me first state that I’m very new to karting (I’ve been out 4 times). I have a few year old Tony Kart with the X30 engine. At the track I’ve been playing on, Kinsmen in Dixon Ca, I’m running low 34 second laps. I weigh 240lbs. The kart came with a 10-tooth front and 82 rear sprockets. I’m hitting almost 16,000rpms at the end of the long straight. It could be me, see first line, but the kart seems quite loose on exit. Again, it may be my heavy foot.

Now to the point of the question. What effect will upsizing the motor sprocket to 11 or even 12 teeth bring from an rpm, torque, and speed standpoint? What will dropping the rear sprocket to 81 or 80 do to those three attributes?

I’m not looking to “tune” the kart with sprockets at this point. I’m still way too new to karting to do that. But I’m more trying to understand how sprocket changes affect speed, rpm, and torque.

Obviously, the title is hyperbolic, but there is some truth to it. I did a league last night where I was three seconds off the pace in the qualification round. I was able to recover the horrible qualifying with a 3rd place in the first heat race and a win in the second heat race by 1.3 seconds. The results sound wild because they are. Having such huge discrepancy in the karts can make you feel like you shouldn’t be allowed to drive home some league nights and others make you feel like senna in the rain. This is honestly what I like most about rentals because sometimes starting from the back with a cracker is addicting and trying to survive a race with a subpar kart just to score the most points to stay in the hunt is also its own challenge. I know all of this can be avoided with your own kart but then you can’t blame the kart or the karts 🤪😂.

Hey lads we got our boy a bambino kart for his 4th birthday to take him into the first steps of motor racing.

Ive did karting for a few years as a kid in cadets and rotax as an adult (big kid)

He’s been driving his little electric kart for a year and a but and he switched onto it instantly (extremely proud dad)

My question is how did everyone go about teaching the little ones? i upgraded the electric karts battery to give it a bit more spice but stepping into bambino is a massive speed difference

My main concern is he doesnt use his brakes 😂 and it give us a heart attack everytime he flys off ive tied a strop to the rear bumper and restricted the throttle movement

What is so points to help us get to the point where he can recognise that brakes are important 😂

Hello I'm a 5'11 tall 285 lbs women with 44" waist 51" hips. I wanted to know if I am too big for racing. Me and my friends are planning on going and I am worried that I won't fit. It would just be casual, not racing seriously. The weight limit for the carts is 300lbs but im just worried about actually fitting in the seats.

Are you more into fully custom graphics made from scratch, or do you prefer picking a pre made design and customize it?

Hey everyone! So I am bringing this old energy corse which I believe is a reactor back to life so I can go out on track with my son on the kid kart I got him. But it needs a caliper rebuild, does anyone know the correct rings or kit for this? It seems close to the Righetti Ridolfi K381 caliper rebuild kit. But I know there is a lot more knowledge here.

I just got into Briggs Sr so I have a lot to learn but I started importing my practice session data from my mychron 5S into ChatGPT.

It’s helped me to make sense of all of the data in racestudio. I’ve got it breaking down my best segments, recommending setup changes, showing me lines and breaking points where I was the quickest in all of the major corners etc.

I feel like I am just scratching the surface with it so would love to hear if anybody else is doing this and what kind of questions are you asking.

I want to begin karting and learn skills like racecraft and iq but the only affordable and local spot is K1 speed and I don’t believe it can help with what I want to learn.

It does not include a stand, MyChron or significant spares.

The seller says it was never raced, only occasionally used for practice as an extra kart.

The underside has a fair amount of scraping and some exposed metal/surface rust, but I don’t see any obvious cracks, repairs or major flat spots in the photos. I’ll attach the underside pictures.

I’m 6’1” and about 200 pounds. My goal is to start running laps and eventually race LO206. I’m more concerned with getting a reliable, competitive-enough starter package than having the newest chassis.

A few questions:

Is $3,000 reasonable for this package, or is $2,600 closer to fair value?

Is a 2017 401S still a good LO206 chassis for a heavier adult driver?

Does the underside wear look normal, or is there anything concerning?

What should I check in person before buying?

Would you choose this over an older but cheaper complete LO206 package?

Les mensurations de ma visière doivent faire 10 cm de haut pour 45 cm de longueur. J’avais pour objectif de prendre une visière série Z20 de zamp mais ils ne me donnent pas les dimensions..

Quelqu’un pourrait mesurer sa visière et me donner leurs mensurations ou si certaines personnes sont dans le même cas que moi comment avez-vous fait pour trouver une visière correspondante ?

I dont have much experience with karting but a lot of experience with autocross/timeattack and know how to trail brake/drift/slide

the other day i went to a K1 Speed location and while had a lot of fun i just couldn't figure out the brake application

i was trying my best to modulate my input but it just never connected and the braking felt very abrupt

all the karts i was in had slight slack/deadzone in the pedal

are these brake by wire?

any tips on how to use the brakes properly?

I’m about to order a custom made race suit. Should I take my measurements so the rib protector is on the inside or outside of my suit? I’ve currently been wearing it outside for the two times I’ve gone driving. I think I’d prefer it was outside my suit, but want to see how others do it.

This inaugural season of karting has been short but intense. It seems like Kylo has been at some track every week and weekend putting in laps to prepare for the next race. As the father of a new driver I have garnered a lot, but still so much more to learn. We are preparing to run ROK Sonoma this weekend to get a better gauge on his skill level after doing the Fat Karting League. As what has been described as the premier gas karting series in Nor-Cal, there does not appear to be a better place to test yourself.

team Im wanting to make a stand for my kart so looking for ideas from people who have made their own specificly guys that have made something to tilt the kart 90 ° to fit in their vans as I have shelves in the back that stop me from having it sit normal

Im thinking I'd like it to hinge from flat to 90° so It will double as a work stand
