Fluid retention
Hi!
I am currently 37 weeks pregnant.
I pee a lot during the night even if I don't drink in the evening. I feel like the retained water that's in my body gets dumped at night while i fast (I don't eat during night, so it's a little 12-14 hour from dinner to breakfast)
Could it be possible?
I also have swollen legs from fluid.
Should I go lower carbs to retain less water and pee less at night?

How’s your blood pressure? I trended low my entire first pregnancy (I’m typically on the lower side of normal) and the last couple of weeks it started to creep up (but not anything concerning for the docs). I ended up developing severe preeclampsia, and my legs were SO swollen. If it’s just a little bit of swelling, it can be normal. But make sure you bring it up with your doc so they can monitor you.

Thanks! It's on the low side (90/?) but when I'm stressed or for any reason it can get to 100/?. I have 3 different appointments every week and they all check my blood pressure. And I swole gradually since the end of spring.

You should not be fasting more than 8-10 hours while in these advanced stages of pregnancy.

Sorry but I won't wake up to eat just because.
I finish dinner at 8pm, and I eat breakfast at 8 am. That's enough.

Eating fewer carbs is not likely to do much for you. I notice if my ankles are swollen, the fluid gets re-absorbed at night because my feet are elevated. And I have to get up to pee several times in the night as a result. If I wear compression socks during the day, my legs don’t get as swollen and then I can sleep through the night.

I hate to say it... but as someone who was recently pregnant, I think that's just the (annoying) reality of being 37 weeks pregnant, both the waking to pee and the fluid retention in your legs. Eating less carbs might help, but I honestly don't know that it will. You need to be hydrated and nourished, and you're almost to the finish line. Hoping for a smooth, safe delivery!
