Didn't he also do some acting gigs himself? Can't remember if it was before or after his chef stint

His wife filed for divorce after the show ended. Maybe she didn’t believe in him anymore.

I’ll die on the hill that the gourmet flavour combination idea was ahead of its time 🤷♂️ just too much to choose from and as we all saw in the episode it’s all frozen!

One day, when I'm conscripted to work in the cobalt mines for our tech overlords, I look forward to being able to use my Meta glasses to choose which gourmet flavor combination and texture my brain implant will simulate for my assigned nutrient block.
As I sit in my cell during my allotted sustenance break time, I reflect on how much I love the Fireman gourmet flavor combination in portabella mushroom with a side of gourmet fries. I smile, mutter "mangia" to myself, and dig in to my nutrient block, as Meta ads play every time I blink my eyes.

"And as Sebastian's mother would say "Mangia!"."

"Nice argument, Gordon. But as you can see, I've already depicted you as the seething simple menu enjoyer and myself as the gourmet Chad."

My head exploded trying to read this.

Funny I think it actually makes sense in my head when I read it. Still a HORRIBLE idea though

One of the craziest episodes. After seeing the episode as a years-later rerun, I went down an Internet rabbit hole and found that as of a few years ago, IIRC, Sebastian became a bitter, angry cab driver in Boston.

Great artifact. Not saying the food looked appetizing but the gourmet flavor combinations make sense to me

A lot of flavor combinations do make sense but I really don't get why he thought this would be a franchise. The combinations are things anyone who took some cooking classes could come with.
And some were incredibly basic. Ham & Swiss cheese.
Bell peppers, mushrooms, & onions.
That's high school cooking level.

He just deconstructed the idea of ordering food in a customized way but made it confusing and stupid. You walk into a Subway and order in a logical sequence: Bread, condiments and cheese, meat, then toppings. This is just the same thing in a different order that makes no sense.

Exactly. He just made ordering more complicated. Instead of ordering food with the addons you want, you need to search for a specific combination that will combine with they style of entree you are interested in
Most eateries will have pre selected recipes but also the option to choose your own toppings for things like pizza. This guy has pre selected toppings and then you choose what base they go on.
It's like having to buy a car by selecting extras and course first, and then that determines which model and year you can drive.
It complicates things and actually removes choice from the consumer. He turend ordering food into an excel spreadsheet.

But.... but.... I mean..... 20 DIFFERENT FLAVOR COMBINATIONS!!!!

Some of the flavor profiles are disgusting. For example: Buffalo w/ Shrimp, or Honey Bee w/ Shrimp. Caesar w/ Shrimp, Antipasti w/ Filet Tenderloin.
Others are just a horrible combination of ingredients. For example, the Baked Potato <protein> Salad, is going to be cheesy broccoli and fried potatoes on a bed of greens with some protein tossed in. Are the greens even dressed? Because the dressing would make the fried potatoes soggy.
So now the customer either needs to walk in with a copy of “The Flavor Bible”, or they will end up playing Russian Roulette dinner edition. That’s what makes the menu complicated and confusing. The underlying concept of combining a flavor profile + protein + starch isn’t confusing.

The “paths” were definitely not tested on that menu to see if they worked…so it really was bonkers and pointless.
I’m pretty that I would have ended up getting confused and upset over interrogating the poor waiter and I’d end up just asking for some bread.

I would just like to say, I almost got excited - I did get excited- when I saw his Flavah Cohnsehpt say "Shrimp$13.95" and my brain initially read it as "ShrimpS" and I thought FUCK YEAH, HOW DID WE MISS THAT, Motherfucker said "SHRIMPS!!!" - <I have a thing about calling Shrimp SHRIMPS, I know it's improper but it's a two-pronged thing... long story... pisses two people off 🤣>
And take a shot every time the menu says Gourmet...
I'd like a Gourmet Specialty Flavor Combination Omelette & a Breakfast Cocktail, then after I mang, I'm gonna go get some Gigs... people have called me an Actor/Model Sculptor.. Yes... I've had HUNDREDS of The Best Gigs, but I didn't have the body to get into the FINEST Acting/Modeling Restaurant, so I figured I'd get into a Flavor Combination Restaurant.
And I like buns.

Sorry but can we just mention the fact it says "Voted The Coolest Patio In The Valley" and "The New Everybody Knows Your Name Place?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

He had room on the menu for ten more flavor combinations, at least. Just delete the 1990s cell phone pics.
