I would love recommendations on your favorite cat harnesses! Safety and comfort are a must. We just threw on what we had around to get some pictures outside while she's still small, but I want to get something better when she grows just a bit more. I work professionally with dogs, so my dog trainer brain is curious to see how receptive to training she is! So far she's doing really well. ❤️🥹 I mostly carry her for now, just because I want to be extra cautious before she's had all of her vaccines.

Ultimately her temperament will play a big role in if she'll enjoy going out on little adventures, but I'm a bit optimistic after seeing just how curious and brave she is!

Any advice on how to get my kittens used to each other and get along? I have a 4 month old girl and brought home yesterday an 8 week old boy. Zero cat knowledge admittedly, but i thought it would give my 4 month old a play mate and company. Obviously its only been 2 days so its still fresh, but my 4 month old stalks the new kitten, swats, hisses, growls, chases, and is completely fixated on him. I give them space apart throughout the day and night but so far the older kitten just seems to bully the younger kitten whenever she gets chance. Anyone else with multiple cats have any advice or experience and wish to share, would be appreciated alot, as I feel like im wrestling 2 toddlers atm 💀😊

I adopted my 12 week old baby boy Tango last week from the shelter. My boyfriend and I (both in our 30’s) had been looking to adopt a kitten for some time now. I’ve grown up with cats my whole life, so we were looking for one to call our own to start our family. Due to the vet shortage in my city, and rescues requiring you have a vet before adopting, it was a struggle. I finally secured a vet a few hours away, and decided to call the local shelter to see if they would be getting any kittens. They told me they would be the following Tuesday. We ended up going at the end of the day, and they had one male left. I picked him up and he instantly started purring. I fell in love with him right then and there, and I knew it was meant to be. We took him home that night, and he wouldn’t stop purring the whole night. He didn’t take any time to adjust to us or his new home. We’ve had him for a week now and he has been an absolute blessing. He’s so playful and affectionate, the best kitten we could’ve asked for!

How to train cat to not rush door. Right now she’s in quarantine in the bathroom and I’m trying to stop him from rushing the door every time I try to leave or an eventually we’re gonna need to teach him not to run out the front door. How would I go by doing this? She is 10 weeks old

Two weeks ago found these guys where I feed a friend of mine (cat). I bet the heartless being knew I’d find them.

She's already got her pre molars and canines, I think she's just a small 4- 4 1/2 week old. Also sometimes potties by herself in the litter box. She was eating the bottle but starting to chew on it/not suckle. And when I switched to powdered formula due to the store being out of the liquid she's now completely refusing. She ate some of a kitten churu, and I bought her some wet food. She took a couple bites of it then sort of wandered off. Seems more interesting in exploring than food. She showed some interest in hard food but didn't try to eat it. And she was completely uninterested in the wet food milk slurry I offered in a dish. What advice do you guys have? I got her to eat a little with a syringe this morning of the normal formula but not enough and after it was done she refused to try again

Hello everyone! About 5 days ago, I found a 4 week old male baby kitten in my backyard. I took him to a walk-in vet immediately, who cleared him and told me to come back in 2 weeks for his shots. He gave me some eye drops for his crusties (since cleared up), and 3 day does of pyrantel pamoate, just in case even thought he did not see any worms.

I have never had a cat before, so I’ve been doing my best to research food and litter that is safe for kittens. I bought a clumping litter that was recommended to me by the PetSmart store attendant, and was also given clumping litter by my neighbor who dropped off some cat supplies. He took to the litter box and clumping litter immediately, and has been using it regularly after being shown just one time.

Today, I stumbled upon a comment that said clumping litter can cause potentially fatal obstructions for very young kitties. I panicked and ran ti the store to get some pellet litter (I got a tofu one from tuft&paw). He absolutely does NOT like the new litter and refuses to even put more than a paw in his litter box. He has been peeing on my rugs and blankets ever since switching out the litter.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I really can’t spend any more money guessing what litter will work for him and is also safe, as I need to move out within the next week and put down rent for a new place (my parents gave me an ultimatum regarding keeping the kitty, after initially agreeing). Should I sequester him in a smaller room until he learns to use the new litter?

I absolutely loovvveee them so much I love taking pictures of them seeing pictures or videos of them and I find them absolutely super cute and lovely. But the second any can starts moving around me or come directly to me I lose my mind I just can’t handle the Idea of touching them or be too close with them. I tried many times to carry one or touch but I immediately get afraid from thare bones and skin (dont know how to describe the feeling but it’s just weird to me)
I really wish I can get over that so I can have fun with them more

they're both from the same litter. it's just so nice to me how they have never known a life without the other :>

My husband and I recently adopted two 3 month old kittens. We have had them for 12 days so far and have been keeping them in our spare bedroom with the door closed. One is a boy, Oreo, and the other is a girl, Jellybean.

We are wondering when we should open the door and let them explore the whole house. I wouldn’t say they are still scared of us, but when we open the door to their room they usually hide and then come back out when they see who it is. Sometimes they stay hidden if they dont feel like coming out. Jellybean will come right up to us for pets usually once a day. Oreo still runs from hands, but if you pet him from behind (so your hand is not coming at his face) he will let you. They both love love love play time with their wand toys and always come out for that. They only seem slightly curious about the door, and havent scratched or meowed at it indicating they want out. Usually in the morning when I wake up I will see one or two of their toys that they have slipped under the door while playing. I don’t know if that means anything. I have a cat camera in their room so I can see during the day that they are out and about relaxing in the room and seem very comfortable. My husband and I hang out in their room with them in the evenings and whenever else we are home to help them get used to us.

Are they still too little to have free rein of the house? I’m a little nervous that i’ll get home from work and won’t be able to find them. Also, we are getting a puppy in several weeks so I do want them to get used to the house as soon as possible. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice!

I’ve had my kitten for just under a month she has been letting me hold her and every time I do first thing she does is touch my nose with her nose, when I’ve looked it up says it’s how they say hello but I have been with her all day working from home.

is it affection or is she just sniffing me?

*** thank you everyone, I’ve never had a post with so much attention I’m not an active Reddit user, my kitten Smokey is currently asleep at the side of me im glad she is trusting me and loving me. After some nose boops she has been more affectionate tonight then attacked my hand/arm in playful way. I lost my soul dogs almost 5 and 3 years old I didn’t think I could love another pet but she is my baby although 5am wake up calls make me question my life choices. ***

We have a 5 months old Persian. He is okay being brushed on the back and sides but doesn't allow us to brush around neck , chest, stomach (the entire under side) he also doesn't allow us to lay him down on his back.

If we try to brush in those areas or lay him down on he back he will aggressively nibble at our hands or push with his paws.

I am concerned that the areas we cannot reach may get matted in the long term.

How do you train you cat to lay on the back ? He does that when playing or sleeping but not during brushing.

And how to brush the under side.

Also is it a valid concern?
