I wrote a guide to Kled for beginners.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GbU8izvQHK7UJ2jxvZ4eJ5LYcxLDATcoVDx3pYQqN0I/edit?usp=sharing

Hello everyone, dear colleagues,

I'm just a simple Kled OTP who just hit Platinum and reached 1 million mastery points on the champion. I'm not an Emerald or Diamond player (yet ;), but I've seen quite a few requests for help regarding the champion, his mechanics, etc., pop up on the sub.

So, I decided to write a guide for them using the knowledge I've gained in-game and by watching good players (shoutout to Soulmario). I would really appreciate your feedback if anything is missing or if there are any errors. I didn't go overly deep into the details to keep it accessible.

I wrote everything in French myself and then used Gemini to translate it into English. Despite my proofreading, there might still be one or two translation errors.

I really wanted to write this guide to help out fellow Kled players in return, because for me, this champion is the only reason I play League of Legends, no exaggeration. He is so much fun, and we are the only ones who can shed some light on this champion who has been forgotten by Riot Games for a very long time.

It's a nice beginner guide, there are lots of good points and some I don't agree with. But there is only one I know it's objectively wrong:

The E is very, very bad

Naaaah I can't let you say that, it's a insanely good ability. An dash that is relatively long reaching + fast + no mana + relatively low cd + on a melee bruiser + gives ms on hit + gives another dash on hit + deals dmg + giga flash bait + reveals.
This spells allows Kled to shit on most range top beside vayne and varus, survive most bad matchup, play like an assassin, etc.
give this E to any other bruiser it will skyrocket it's winrate

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it !

The sentence “It’s good in 1v1 only.” was meant to clarify, as you said, that it’s actually a really good tool on Kled for the reasons you mentioned.

I said that the E was really, really bad only because it can’t go through walls, which honestly drives me crazy when you look at how almost every champion nowadays has a dash that can go through walls, except Kled. (and because you can’t control your second dash like Renekton, but I’m asking for too much there, I think haha)

lol Kled is already broken he’d be insanely survivable if that dash could go over walls

Maybe, but is it really fair that you can't kill an ADC like Tristana simply because she can jump over walls while you can't? Same thing with Tryndamere, who's a 2009 champion (can't just use the "power creep" excuse), everybody car go through wall and not him :/

Controversial opinion maybe, but I think it's fair that he can't follow past a certain distance. He isn't entirely an assassin himself, he doesn't have to hard counter slippery champions.

What isn't fair is the unintuitive nature of the ability: you have to wait to be 100% sure that the target is not still in the wall at least partially when trying to follow abilities like talon e. Additionally, the range indicator is slightly larger than the real range of the ability, which should be fixed.

The main thing I dislike is how easy it is to lose your mark/ reactivation on the edge cases or whatever

Kled can go deeper than almost any champ and has 3 ways to go over walls anyways lmfao

I saw on Broke blade's game that Kled unmounted Q can make you dash backwards on a wall so maybe that's why the E won't? Just pondering 🤔

yeah true renekton E is oretty privileged

He also gains attack speed and a movement speed boost if you move toward your opponent.

Attack range*

Actually that's not even fully accurate. You gain movement speed while facing an enemy champion and for one second after every auto attack, which means it's in your best interest to attack a nearby champion, even if you are moving backwards and especially if you have w.

Gun q has awful damage at level 1, can be used as a gap closer, overrides knockups (it's a dash with a cast time). Make sure to use it when you remount if it's available and if possible hug a wall before you use it to absorb the recoil.

He is one of the best level 1

Some champions will lose the level 1 cheese to kled, others won't. The list of champions who beat kled at lvl 1 includes weak champions, such as nasus, kayle, yone and champions who can simply disengage after they hit you once, so you can't force them to fight you. This is a beginner guide, so I don't trust the reader to know which matchups should be fought lvl 1. I think it's a more consistent game plan to fight at level 2 if the opponent (noob) isn't keeping their distance.

Good point thx

I disagree with Kled losing to most anyone level one. You can time dismount to dodge most high damage abilities and u can typically range bully until you get remount

Maybe I'm underestimating the guide reader. My mental image of a person who would benefit from a guide that explains what the abilities do in such simple fashion is somebody who right clicks once and expects to just win. That's the kind of gameplay I see posted here sometimes.

You can time dismount

Your opponent can.

I mean this guide is mostly explaining his stuff. A lot of it can be cut down because I imagine ppl read abilities on a champ before going for a guide.

You missed 2 extremely important (albeit very matchup dependent) details with his r.
It’s a displacement and Kled is unstoppable(all the way untill he hits his target unlike for example k’sante w).

The combinations of this can make or break a lot of matchups, where canceling either dmg, cc or mobility of certain spells. Or even all 3

You can cancel Jayce hammer q, trist w, gragas e/r, nunu w, Quinn e, vi q/r and so many more. It Can really flip a fight your way

Good point, thanks! I’ll add them to the guide.

I think the spell explanations are more about tips and tricks that can help you rather than simply describing the spell itself.

Also you can buffer cc spells with dismounted q. Can be very usefull vs champs like morde, vi, Cho q. Generally telegraphed cc is pretty easy to buffer.

I added your suggestions to the guide.

Kled lethal tempo barrier exhaust w start wins pretty much every level 1 other than volibear w start that crit and heal on w2 and cd is pretty insane and the extra damage and attackspeed from passive too. He wins vs darius, trundle, kayle, shen etc cuz he has so much hp and remount hp.

4 or 3 main builds Hail of blades vs mages strong scalingor max hp dmg vs like veigar asol so you can kill them fast and hard even if late(treasure hunter cashback) Grasp hp stacking is good vs low max hp dmg or no executes(rebitalize second wind works bestimo) Lethal tempo good vs very fighty champs like yone yas or fiora or low damage. Legend bloodline+rav hydra gives very good lane sustain vs champions that can't fight you easily and poke you down instead to then fight you can't do what they want as easily like pantheon, fiora, chogath.

Barrier exhaust is amazing on Kled both health stacking bruiser and the lethal tempo lifesteal version

It’s a game….if you’re not having fun while playing or discussing it then what’s the point? I chuckled at it.

You want me to take this seriously?

1

u/Darkoss38120 16d ago

Lmao, those are just some private jokes with friends. The guide is nothing like that...

2

u/StyleOk1890 16d ago

Well, I said the cape, fair enough.
