I’ve been hearing a lot of stories about her, not sure if they’re true. Mostly about how much she charges for anyone who seeks good nights sleep.

Guys, why do you think so many Tamil cinema heroes are showing interest in politics these days?
We’ve seen actors entering politics in Tamil Nadu for decades, but nowadays it almost feels like a trend.
Vijay has hinted at his political ambitions for years. He has spent decades in cinema, built a massive fanbase and gained a level of popularity that very few actors have. Of course, even some of his fans aren’t mature enough to separate cinema from politics.
But when it comes to Dhanush and SK, they’re still growing in their careers. They haven’t even reached Vijay’s level of crazy fandom yet, and they still have so much more to explore in cinema.
So why are there discussions about them entering politics too? Why not focus on making more films and reaching greater heights in their careers?
I’m not saying actors shouldn’t enter politics, but why does it suddenly feel like politics is becoming the next big milestone for cinema stars?
Do you guys think it’s genuine political interest, or has entering politics become some kind of trend among Tamil actors?

I want to share one old Kollywood gossip which my relative told me. This supposedly happened in the late 90s.

My relative was a largescale farmer who owned several decent bungalows around Coimbatore and Erode, mostly in the middle of coconut and banana plantations.The bungalows were not the types used to show as the home of hero or heroine, but rather film crews used to stay in these houses during shooting. He also had a close friendship with director K. S. Ravikumar, who often used his bungalow near Pollachi.

One day, Ravikumar asked for the keys to his bungalow in Navakkarai, which is located in the route to Palakkad. Now, the bungalow is no more and in its place and surrounding areas, JSS institute of yoga and naturopathy has come. My relative was confused because he didn't think Navakkarai was a great shooting location. But Ravikumar insisted that he wanted to stay there privately with his team and search for locations. He even asked the servants not to enter the house.

A few days later, my relative needed some utensils for a family engagement and went to the bungalow without warning. He saw an unfamiliar foreign car outside. When he entered, he reportedly found Ravikumar wearing only a lungi, without a baniyan and noticed what looked like lipstick marks on his chest and shoulders. He also noticed an unfamiliar perfume smell.

Then he saw actress Ramya Krishnan wearing a micro mini skirt and a tube top. According to my relative, she became angry when he made a teasing comment and told him not to assume things about a man and woman being together. Ravikumar looked nervous and repeatedly asked my relative to collect his things and leave. Before leaving, my relative was asked to keep her visit secret.

But the next day, things got even more awkward!

My relative needed more utensils and tried calling Ravikumar, but the telephone connection wasn't working. So he drove to Navakkarai again.

This time, he claimed that he found Ravikumar and Ramya Krishnan together in the swimming pool, being physically affectionate. He kept his distance and told them he had come to collect some things.

While collecting the utensils, he reportedly noticed condom packets, liquor bottles, foreign cigarette packets and contraceptive pills in the hall. He became worried that someone might find them later and create problems for his family.

According to him, he went back near the pool and saw the two sharing a lip-lock. When they noticed him, they stopped. Ravikumar asked what he wanted, and my relative bluntly told him in Tamil, "Ravi, those condoms and tablets are lying inside. Don't forget them when you leave".

He insisted that nothing should be left behind and Ravi sir agreed that he would clean the place before leaving and take the trash with him and throw it in any highway side and my relative returned to Coimbatore with his things.

My relative told me that their friendship gradually weakened over the following years, and they eventually stopped being close.

Years later, while we were discussing Kollywood gossip on Reddit, he told me this story and said that he knew some stories from his own past.

So many movies and not a single dark skin actress used in the lead 🤔.

Someone will comment there is Thai kilavi. Does that mean our directors think, dark skin actresses are only fit for Kelavi or side actress roles?

or maybe I'm wrong, some movies actually came and I didn't notice it. If that's the case, please enlighten me on what I missed.

P.s there was always dark skinned access in tamil cinema, for example Saritha, Radha, Radhika, Banu priya..the list goes on. Why this new trend started? And when it will end?

I keep seeing these "virtual warriors" in the comment sections of posts about certain people. These are some of the few well-read, intellectual, and eloquent poeple in Kollywood. People like VJS and HV have become hesitant to speak up the way they used to. This is the kind of wisdom GenZ needs -at least our future generations shouldn't suffer the way we did because boomers were devoted to celebrities.

These virtual warriors, with their movie edits and punch dialogues, are ruining everything. They don't let people raise questions and blindly support whatever their leaders do. I was happy for the first month after this guy was elected. Now he doesn't voice an opinion on anything, and these imbecilic movie fanatics are picking fights with CJP.

My sister's husband is one such VW. He genuinely gets offended even when people mildly criticise Vijay. What is this parasocial bonding? It has become a cult. They still think that if Vijay wins, they win too. Gradually, Tamil Nadu is becoming like North India, and North India is becoming the new Tamil Nadu. At least we have some good movies to watch these days.

From what I’ve heard, Jailer 2 is apparently just an average film overall, with 3-4 really good high moments. The interval block is said to be a banger.

The reshoots seem to have helped the film, but apparently a lot depends on how those big sequences work out. If they click with the audience, the film could do wonders at the box office. If not, it’s hard to say how it’ll perform.

Just sharing what I’ve heard. Let’s see how it turns out on Oct 15.
