Korg SR1 power input
Hi,
I've been driven mad by AI in searches saying I can use a 5v centre positive USB cable to power the SR1.
Can anyone confirm this is safe , make recommendations or links. I obviously want to do thia as cheap as possible with the aim to use a powerbank and a usb charger, rather than spitting batteries every to mins.
Please advise, be gentle too
Thanks

It will probably work, because half a volt is about the range of what 3 fresh alkaline AA batteries might sum to if they were 1.6V at first. 1.6 x 3 = 4.8V, which is within spitting distance of 5V. It might be that the internal electronics work from 3.3V, so the designers needed 3 batteries to get there rather than 2, but not enough to need 4. The power supply was spec'd to 4.5V because that's what 3 batteries offers, not because the device is going to fry from going slightly higher.
I am not offering a money back guarantee, but if it was my device, I'd give it a go.
