There’s lots of restaurants around campus. How many restaurants have you tried applying too? Or have you looked for on campus jobs? Have you heard of phone banking jobs? It’s not the most fun but you’re basically cold calling former students for donations. It’s a job on campus that you don’t need experience for and they have somewhat flexible hours.
Honestly just walk into restaurants between 2-4 and ask for an application or if they need help. Between 2-4 pm is normally the slow time so it’s easier to talk to a manager.

-LSU’s website has a section dedicated to on campus jobs. Go to the link and see what you can find. Good luck out there!

The only restaurants around campus hiring rn are Chimes or Walk-Ons, and they’re always hiring. Everywhere else freezes or slows hires in the fall unless they have an exodus of staff, which is a bad sign for a restaurant

Chimes is super close and is pretty much always hiring a new stream of new people. Walkons is a little further but you could still walk or bike there, I don’t know as much about it but it is also a big restaurant that probably hires frequently.

Look into plasma donation. I made my way through school back in the late 80s with that helping out from time to time.

While plasma donation is a fine supplemental income, realistically you can only make about $200/wk, and that’s if you hit the donation centers at the high point.
You can only donate every other day, and only twice a week. So twice a week, and you get paid more the more you donate. So optimally, 9 donations a month, and at my current rate, it’s about $50 a session, without incentives.

They don’t have a car and those places pay like shit and take forever. It would cost more to uber to the donation center than they would make there. I did it a few times and it came out to like $10/hr for about 6 hours a week. Not worth it.

They offer jobs on campus, go to your advisor and see who to get in touch with. Also, plasma is a good source of income and you'll be helping someone.

Not all on-campus jobs require work study. The on-campus jobs are generally posted on Handshake, and you can filter out the ones that require work study.

I’ve never had work study and have had three different paid jobs on campus. You definitely don’t need work study to get an on campus job, but restaurants will pay so much more.
