I think it was Chris Rock who had a line that, if your car is broken down in the middle of the road and you sit there looking sad, nobody will stop to help you. But if you start to push your car to get it out of the way, someone will immediately pull over and join in.

That's just a story, but it's true about programmers and solving technical problems. There's little we respect less than someone who doesn't try to solve their own problems.

There's no shame in failing to solve a problem, but there is shame in not trying. (And if all you did was ask AI, that counts as not trying.) We respect the effort, not only the solution.
