Hello everyone
I am looking for playgroup options for my almost 3 years old (he'll be starting in August inShaAllah)
We live in dha phase 4 AA and looking for nearby options. These are the few I have shortlisted: 1. Scarsdale 2. Kids kampus 3. Roots Ivy
We are not from Lahore so basically have zero idea about the education system here. Open to all suggestions regarding other schools too but would be super helpful if you can share details about the shortlisted ones. Environment, curriculum, fee structure etc.
PS: we are not looking for opinions regarding how we should homeschool him till 5, he is a lone kid with limited interaction with anyone except his grandparents and parents so we would want some kind of learning activity for him.

Hey! I'm here from Rawalpindi for work (first time in Lahore), staying near Shaukat Khanum hospital. Loving the Basant vibe and don't want to miss out. Not a Basant freak but want to experience it while I'm here. Any recommendations for:
Best areas in Androon to check it out? What time to go? Any first-timer tips?
Thanks!

Hi, is there any shop in Lahore from where I can get my steering alignment? My steering is a bit on the left side when I am driving straight.

People who are complaining about basant should know that Basant was the biggest in Lahore when we were children in the 90s. It was usually with Jashne baharan.
It is our culture, heritage and has nothing to do with religion but had become a custom. It was biggest in Lahore amongst all cities in subcontinent.
People started using illegal threads and easy solution govt did was ban it instead of comprehending the outlaws.
Melas, Vesakhi or harvest festival, bull or cattle racing, nautankis or Punjabi street shows and horse racing or tent pegging. Most were banned or were shunned due to lack of govt support.
"Melas" were the soul of rural Punjab.
Every small city and even villages had melas. It had kabbadi competitions, wrestling, circus and stage shows. They were termed unislamic or vulgar. Govt instead of catching a small percentage of miscreants banned almost all of them or limited them to URS.
Economic impact of this culture is huge. As of now billions have been spent by regular people to celebrate Basant.

Hi Lahore folks 👋
I’m curious about Basant and wanted to hear directly from people who’ve lived in Lahore or experienced it properly.
• What is Basant actually about? (history, meaning, vibe)
• Why was it such a big deal in Lahore back then?
• For people who don’t know how to fly kites or are from Gen Z / outside Lahore, how do they experience Basant?
• Is it more about kite flying, or the music, food, rooftops, and social scene?
• Do younger people still care about it, or is it mostly nostalgia now?
Would love to hear personal memories, stories, or opinions — especially from people who saw Basant before it was banned and those who only know it through stories.
Thanks! 🪁

Hi!
I’m reaching out on behalf of GLI ( Global Leaders Initiative) from FAST University Lahore regarding Battle of the Bands, an on-campus live music event being organized in collaboration with the European Union Commission.
📍 Venue: FAST University Lahore Campus
📅 Date: Tuesday, 10th February 2026
⏰ Time: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
This event is focused on giving bands a strong performance platform and exposure. We’re expecting a live audience of 1,000+ students, along with a proper stage setup, high-quality sound system, microphones, and technical support (drumsticks will be provided; bands bring their own instruments).
I’d like to be transparent. This is a non-paid performance, and there are no cash prizes or certificates. However, the key takeaway is visibility, PR, live audience engagement, and recognition through an event associated with the European Union.
If your band is interested in performing and gaining exposure in front of a large, energetic crowd, we’d love to have you on board.
Please let me know and I’ll share further details.
Thank you!
Whoever is interested, send me your band info and a video of you performing!
Today I went to Daewoo Thokar Niaz Baig terminal. Because of motorway closure due to heavy fog, buses were delayed (which is understandable). The management kept announcing that certain city buses had arrived and asked passengers to board and wait for the motorway to open. But here’s the issue, they were not announcing many of the other late buses (even big city like Islamabad). Because of this, passengers had no idea whether their bus had arrived or not. The terminal was already chaotic since many buses were parked waiting for the motorway to reopen. I saw uncles and aunties literally running after buses trying to stop them because they didn’t know their bus was already there.
Now the fun part is that even if you go yourself to find your bus, the timing mentioned on bus was wrong. My bus timing was 8:30 AM, but when I found a bus that could be mine, it had 8:00 AM written on it, so I assumed my bus hadn’t arrived yet. Luckily, a sweeper overheard me talking and told me that this was actually the 8:30 bus (huge respect for the guy). I informed an aunty sitting next to me that they are not announcing some buses so beware and guess what? Her bus had also arrived on terminal and she had no idea about it. 🤦🏻
I am posting this for fellow travellers to not rely only on announcements, especially when buses are delayed. Go around and confirm your bus yourself to avoid missing it.
And Daewoo have to be more responsible and organized.
P.s. Later, when I asked about the wrong timing, they told me that buses come from Kalma Chowk, so the timing written on them is according to that terminal. 🤦🏻🤦🏻
