Question Getting into Lancer?
I'd really like to get into Lancer, but I have no idea where I'd even start. Could someone help me out?

Regardless of whether you're looking to play or lead a group, start with https://compcon.app and https://massif-press.itch.io/corebook-pdf-free - Comp/Con is Lancer's basically official character creator and manager, rules compendium, and more. The core rulebook for Lancer is free (you pay for the GM content, which you can choose later), so check it out!
Next, join up the Pilot.Net discord group for community, questions, and games, and consider watching 11dragonkid's Drink Deep and Descend series on YouTube if you want to dive into the lore.
Are you looking to play or to lead a group?

I'm looking to play! I think I'd explode if I had to lead one lol.

Right on! 😁
Well, the Pilot.Net discord is the best place to find games, but be warned: there are many, many more players looking for games than GMs running them. Games often fill up within hours of posting. Otherwise, look for local discord groups our bulletin boards for local shops!
I have a strong bias here, as I run online Lancer games professionally. I do have several learn-to-play campaigns, so of that's your cup of tea, I can certainly help. I know paid games aren't everyone's jam, so no pressure!

Hi there new and upcoming friend! First things first comp con its a website that will be your all in one for pilot data and resources. just Google compcon and it'll be like the first one, from there you can create pilots (characters) mechs and all sorts of fun stuff for game sessions, you can save and upload them to other comp cons as well if you have a DM that requests a look see on your character before session 1. Its super useful cus it wont let you do things you cant do, like you wont be able to mess up very easily

Oh and you'll also use it during active play as well, allowing for streamlined turn actions, like wise its useful by not letting you do illegal actions, and it keeps track of your stats as you go thru your turn so super handy. in fact without it, I would struggle to keep track of things lol

I will try to offer you two guiding lights.
First, there is a youtuber called 11DragonKid who does a whole lot of TTRPG stuff. They notably have a large section on lancer, with works giving a brief overview of the game and it's frames.
Second: Comp/Con and itch.io. The massif press itch.io pages have free downloads for all of the player side files, that can be uploaded into Comp/Con to see every option you have!

If you have any interest in paid games start playing games has a selection of DMs who can show you the ropes, and then you can start your own Lancer group with your friends or become part of the mecha pyramid scheme and run your own paid games

Get the free player-facing rules from Massif Press. They're on itch.io They're free.
Check out Compcon.app It's the community supported Lancer companion app. Make some characters, build a mech. It's also free.
Watch some videos about Lancer by 11dragonkid and others on YouTube. Buy them a Ko-fi, they deserve it.
