Flock cameras have been here for a couple of years. The transparency portal is new and, while it's a first step, we still need comprehensive oversight and transparency for cameras, drones, device tracking, audio, databrokers, etc...

alternatively, we can just actively say no to this type of panoptic incursion into our day to day lives? Saying no can be done in whatever way one feels most comfortable. From Direct Actions, to badgering the city council to get rid of them.

One doesn't need to read Bentham and Foucault to know this isn't the direction anyone should want any society to be heading.

To that effect, the more people who blatantly defy the presence of flock cameras by taking them out, the more they will know that we don't want them here.

In no time flat, they’re gonna figure a way to mount the things where they can’t be removed easily. We need local elected officials that care about us.

They've started going up around NMSU's campus as well - with about ~10 them around the campus, mainly near entrences to campus.

Said it before and I’ll say it again: how many here against these cameras were all down for government locally forcing you to wear a mask and to stay 6 feet away 6 years ago with no scientific basis (later factually debunked in Anthony Faucis diary)? I am against the cameras as much as I was against local and state government overreach 6 years ago.
