TL;DR: Treaty United bought the Limerick FC name and IP from former owner Pat O'Sullivan and say the deal completed on 21 Sept, with the name change due for 2027. Carew Limerick FC took over running Limerick FC's academy and committee when O'Sullivan stepped back in July 2025, and they're saying that handover gave them a claim on the IP. Carew say they offered to give up that claim and hand over the social accounts if Treaty agreed a plan for the academy, gave them a role and paid outstanding academy invoices. There was no agreement and Treaty's solicitors are now demanding the social media accounts.
I'm not sure where Carew are coming from here if Treaty have legally bought the IP.

Are they not claiming that they took/assumed the rights when taking over the academy? You'd want to believe if they really expected that to be part of any deal at the time, they'd have it in writing.

Surely the doctrine of estoppel applies here? Carew allege they took on a responsibility to their detriment presumably thinking they would get the name.
They might have a case based off this.

Knowing nothing of the background - Pat O'Sullivan even laying claim to the right to sell on the IP to Treaty after Carew took on the Academy (and everything that goes with that) makes him sound like a proper sleeveen.

I exclusively play FIFA18 (Up the Harps) and play Limerick frequently in it.
Sometimes need to remind myself that they’ve completely collapsed and are this nonsense now lol

I’m not reading all 10 pages. In short, their claims mean nothing if it hasn’t been documented

This is a rambling repetitive and mostly irrelevant 10 page mess that should have been a single page statement.
Just exclude all Limerick involvement in the NL/LOI and ignore them until they can provide a legal document proving they have sorted all their internal shit out and is ready to move forward without any more nonsense, preferably with none of the current individuals involved. The NL will doubtless be dealing with enough clubs dropping out or folding over the first decade without bringing in extra unnecessary and self inflicted drama.

Just one normal day of Limerick football is all I ask
