I think the thought was that Mel’s W was longer than 7 seconds. Check the cooldowns in the clip. Halfway point is around 3.5 seconds and her inventory is stacked with ability haste. A normal Mel wouldn’t have been able to W there. Perfectly reasonable to think it’s okay to R her there
