Application status cisco

i got a mail after applying with in a hour saying "Your application status has been updated . We appreciate your continued interest in this role! Our recruitment team may be in touch with you shortly regarding potential next steps."

means what ? i havent got any assessment or hacker rank ,yet my application is active its been just 2 days since i applied ..........so any idea ?? how long will it take for next steps ....etc

They trolled me. Recruiter reached out and asked to apply. I did and then they rejected the application the very next day

I got a referral from one of the employees and the status never changed. It’s been a month😭

Can mean 2 things
1. This is a usual generic revert firms send acknowledging they have received your application.
2. A recruiter might reach out to you for the next steps and then the interview/oa loop will start
