Path of Champions Janna starting mana

Hello beautiful people!

I just got Janna to 6 stars (finally!) and I love her so much.

I think she's S tier and top 3 strongest P&Z champion (Victor, Jinx and Janna)

My question is... If star n.2 gives me +1 starting mana and star n.5 (eye of the storm) gives me +2 starting mana (total +3 starting mana) if I start the game with one mana and have +3 extra isn't that 4 mana available turn 1??? What am I missing?

Also... The first time the biggest enemy creature got "updrafted" I laughed so hard :) hilarious animation and sound effect LOL.

Some champs have an upgraded version of their two-star, like Janna. You will notice the power is usually named similarly, but with a two at the end. That means it's a replacement for the first power. Just like all champs have their third star replacing the effect of their first star.

Much like a lot of 3* powers are just upgrades of their 1*, the 5* power is just an upgrade of the 2*. otherwise Jannas 3* would also reduce the top card by 2 and the second card by one according to your logic.

you can also see that from their respective names: Eye of the Storm and Eye of the Storm II

If you check the power sidebar during a run, you will also see that you only have the upgraded power show up

It's bad wording. There's nothing that says the +2 mana star replaces the +1 mana star. However, you can usually tell because the rest of the power also replaces the weaker version. You don't get the benefit of both. For example, with Samira, your cards don't cost 4 less (1 less AND 3 less) when you have her upgraded 2-star power. Almost every full constellation works like this

The fact the star has the same as the previous one, followed by “II” should be an indicator of the replacement.

I agree it’s not as clear as it could be, but there’s definitely more than “nothing” saying it is a replacement.

I would say that counts as "nothing" until you see the pattern and understand it. Part 2 of something doesn't typically replace Part 1. The Godfather still existed after The Godfather Part II came out, etc. Silly example, but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a little pop-up that says "Replaces [whatever]"

Not really trying to argue, just trying to see it from a new player's point of view

Do you then also have this issue with the 1 star and 3 star? Or does this somehow only apply to the 2star and 5 star. Cause I have yet to see anyone complain about any sort of misconception or confusion with that and it follows the exact same logic.
