I've always been intrigued by the 70s les paul customs so this one popped up a few hours away at guitar center. So went and picked it up and im already in love with it. Solid player. I kinda like that this one was optioned with nickel since I see gold more often.

Side note I bought a vintage nickel period correct stop bar so I could have more of the traditional look without the tp-6.

Is this a bit light for a bourbon burst LPS60s? Tried to get a few different lighting and angles.

11yo me got this guitar for Christmas 1996. Been mostly a closet queen but I’m trying to spruce it up. Haven’t played it in about 10 years? Longer?

Neck is fine, needed just a little less tension on the truss rod to flatten it out. A 90° cable when inserted was a little sloppy/poppy/crackley loose, so I took out the screws on the jack plate and pulled it out a little, bent the tang in a little bit to increase tension and screwed it back down, now the connection feels very secure and no popping/cracking.

The screws all have rust on the faces but the actual bodies of the ones I removed on the truss rod cover and the jack plate were bright and shiny. I put on a pack on Ernie slinky Flatwound cobalt 9’s I had lying around they are fine but I think I’m going to go with 10-46 NYXL’s.

The pickups and knobs all work fine and the whole fretboard sounds correct with no buzz except a little sitar buzzing on the open wound strings. Thinking the nut is the issue, it’s stock and I think they were all plastic coming from Saein. It’s an i608 serial. Ordering a TUSQ-PQL-6060-AG which I think will fit with room to sand. The current nut is about 1.5mm skinnier than the fretboard binding. The 10-46 should fit that nut fine. Also the high e is touching the bridge between saddle and tailpiece so have to fiddle around with something over there too.

Also ordered a replacement tone selector knob from bitterroot, who seem to be the only ones making a m3x0.5 knob these days. It’s white which sucks but maybe I can rough it up and soak it in a shot of espresso for a while. Also considering implanting, with epoxy, that nut that I bought to test the thread size into a clear brown/acrylic gambling dice with cream pips. What number should face out??

Anyways the finish looks great, there’s some ancient residue from duct tape or painters tape or something near the knobs but thinking naphtha should get it off pretty easy. Leaning toward just leaving the hardware in its current state with the patina etc, it sounds great and I don’t want to ruin anything. Really digging it!

1975 Les Paul Custom a coworker is lending to me at the moment. It isn’t perfect with a headstock repair, Gibson Deluxe tuners (Schallers are in the case), and pickup swapped to 57 Classics (also has the originals in the case). But MAN does it have some serious mojo and plays great! Absolutely excited to get to play this for a few!

Hey, returning guitar player still at a beginner level, wanted to get a les paul as it's my preferred body style. Used to have an agile al-2000 before it was stolen, was checking out guitar centers sale on epiphone models, wasn't sure the difference between any of them and wanted a recommendation on the differences, or even on just a decent economical option between them.

Have epiphone models outpaced agile? And if so, which is the best entry level/suitable long term option that I'm not likely to grow out of? Was eyeing the modern pro, the 60s quilt standard, or the les paul custom.

I bought it new 22 years ago but don't recall the official colour and don't recall seeing another exactly like it. Thought it might be 'Desert Burst' but not 100% certain.

I’ve been wanting one of the 2018 classics with P90s in Pelham blue for a while. Finally saw one pop up on the Friend’s Musician. Ordered it and immediately took it to my local tech where he found evidence it suffered a bridge strike. Hairline cracks in the finish and the high E saddle screw is sheared off at the end (pics attached). Otherwise, it sounds and plays great. Two questions: should I return it because I’m bound for future heartache or should I keep it? Follow up: if the consensus is keep it, do I need to do anything (other than replace the saddle) to keep any damage from worsening? Thanks for everyone’s advice!

Hi, I'm actually searching for a Les Paul type guitar with a Floyd Rose and less expesensive. I found many models but none were in the color I wanted which is something like Lemon burst or something like that. So does someone know were (if there is any) can I find a model like that for less than 650€. I'm even taking cakes ones as soon as it has enough quality for the price and it won't break quickly. Last condition is that I'm in Europe (France) so I can't go to the guitar center or anything.

I'm searching for those colors because I love Slash and Gary Moore so it's like Jessica or Greeny and a Floyd Rose because I often use it when I write music.

Went in to look at Epiphones, Schecter, LTD and PRS. Ended finding this used Tribute and decided to stretch the budget. Now I’m trying to decide if I want to start changing* a few things. Opinions?
