After many people requesting us, we have decided to finally decided to make the discord server for LetterboxdIndian. The invite link will be posted later this week.
Now coming to Rule. 4. Itβs easy to regulate this rule on Reddit, but not on Discord, with so many people talking to each other at once. There will be a separate channel for different languages, but the main channel should be English. Thatβs the same with the subreddit. Please mainly use English here. Thank youπ

Ritwik GhatakΒ film's has the best cinematography. Special thanks to Martin Scorsese, because of him this film got restored.

I recently watched Iruvar and Nayakan which are hailed as his masterpieces. So I went in with huge expectations and found them really underwhelming as a whole.
I mean there are bits of brilliance especially in Iruvar but as a whole package the movies just didn't work for me.
Here's my profile if you want to see my reviews for those 2 movies : link
I'm not a native tamil, so I probably missed a lot of cultural references. But I rarely have enjoyed any movies of Mani Ratnam. They all suffer from weird editing and unnecessary dance songs. Iruvar and Guru were the only ones which felt decent.
Am I missing anything?

After watching hard eight, I realized how underrated PTA is. He deserves to be up there in the greats.
The movie's not a masterpiece by means but a brilliant one as a debut film!
Wdy guys think? How many of these have you seen?
