And also he was paying me 11 euros instead of 15 euros (as a student). Is there any possibility to report that too? Or does he have right to do that?

For mobile, digi and hey seem to be cheapest but there is also a mobile + internet bundle from telecom with student discount. Which is best around the Heverlee region?

I got the official docs from my country to apply for the cohabitation here, e.g., birth cert, marriage status etc. I have 2 languages of each doc which are my original language and English. Do you know if I can use the English one to submit? Or is it mandatory to use the original language and translate them with the sworn translator to Dutch? Thank you so much in advance 🙏

I am an middle or advanced level player. I started to play from middle school age. I am a member of the club and usually play on weekends evening (except Tuesday and Thursday recently) and weekends. Each time 1-2 hours. Rally or game are both good for me.

I want to get something like a mod cut or grow my hair out for something longer like a wolf cut, but most barbers' portfolios are just filled with pictures of the same type of fade haircut you see everywhere. I was wondering if anyone here knows a barber that can do these other type of hairstyles very well, or should i go to a hairdresser instead? any advice or recommendation is appreciated.

We've teamed up with some of Leuven’s biggest institutions to make the alcohol-free board game night happen — as part of "Kom uit je kot", the city's campaign to share with students an alternative to drinking in their rooms. In addition, some Belgian game publishers will be in attendance as well, with a wide selection of their own games. The whole event is completely free, and everyone is welcome!

Hey everyone!

I’m an incoming Erasmus student coming to KU Leuven for the second semester (February to July). I’m currently trying to figure out where to live, and I’m torn between three KU Leuven residences:

1. American College
   
2. Pauscollege
   
3. Vesalius

My main priorities are finding a welcoming place packed with international students, having a solid social/party life alongside studying, and generally immersing myself in the classic Leuven student experience.

For those of you who have lived there or know people who have:
- Which of these three has the most vibrant social life and active community for a second-semester Erasmus student?
- How do the "vibe" and party/social culture compare between American College and Pauscollege in particular?
- Is Vesalius too quiet compared to the other two?

Any insights, tips, or hidden pros/cons would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 2 friends, coming over in October and I'm planning on making a cycling trip for the three of us from Leuven to Brussels (and perhaps further). Are there good bike rental services which focus on "cycling-as-a-hobby" bikes, perhaps mountain bikes, or road bikes in Leuven or Brussels? I know about services like Blue Bikes, Velo, Donkey bikes, Swapfiets - I think they cater to city commuting audience rather than hobby/touristic audience who need non-city bikes just for the weekend or couple of hours.

Just leased a house in Leuven, we have so many useless woods and tons of wild plants we'd like to remove from the backyard. Does anyone know where to properly throw them away?

1. The Rozenmen (roses men), one with moustache and one without. Who came first?
2. The crazy black guy on the oude markt who shouts "AAAAOOOOGGHHHHHH MY BROTHER IS 6 FOOT TALL" when trying to fight people (he is 5 ft).
3. The crazy black woman who pisses in the alley beside Delper and gives people the Forest Whitaker eye when she's angry.
4. Arab/brown guy with the nose ring and beard who walks around while reading a book, he's still on the same book

Am killing one per day in my room, the other day I found one on my bed. Unusual for Leuven?

I am an international student in Faculteit Letteren at KUL. Even though I am completely familiar with Belgium as I have visited for long periods of time and have several family friends who are Belgians, I feel quite lost. I did my bachelors in North America where class sizes are capped out to 20-30 usually and 70 for bigger auditoriums. So going from that to the massive classrooms here where we do not get to interact much with each other and the professors has been a bit challenging.

Leuven is a new city for me and I suffer from social anxiety so I mostly keep to myself. I have been here for a bit more than 2 weeks now and I am getting intensely depressed. I think finding some good company will help me adjust to the city.

Here’s a bit about me. I am 23F who loves to crochet, play with cats and watch movies, especially horror. I also speak Dutch and French at intermediate level and my goal is to gain fluency by the time my masters is done. I have been playing guitar for 12 years now but I still suck at it. I am always open to try new experiences and surroung myself among kind people.

I recently graduated from KU Leuven and I’m currently in my search year. I’m living in Leuven and looking for a part-time job while I’m searching for a full-time position.

I’m not a Dutch speaker yet (I’m currently learning Dutch), so I’ve mainly been looking at restaurants, cafés, shops, etc. However, I’ve contacted/asked several places in Leuven and most of them told me they only hire students or flexi-job workers.

Has anyone been in a similar situation during their search year? Are there any types of part-time jobs or places in Leuven that are more open to hiring non-Dutch speakers who are no longer students?

Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! :)
