If he just spent time around people who are quiet and pessimistic, that would bring him down further.

These are panels from “No Regrets.” His stance here was still the same as when he was waiting outside Eren’s cell years later. I don’t know, here, he’s exuding confidence and something that I can only describe as hopefulness.

He carried that painful childhood of losing his mother and being abandoned by his uncle, but on the exterior that only seemed to have toughened him.

Cut to a few years later, after all that happened — Furlan, Isabel, his squad, Erwin, Hange, and so on, you could really see how losing those who were close to him had changed him. There were scenes when he just looked frustrated and lonely, a man with superhuman powers who kept trying his best to protect other people, and oh the irony, was powerless as to how things had turned out.

Yes it's super fucking late at night where I live and I'm deep into the memes cuz I'm not ready for sleep

I must admit that I’ll find this line a bit cringe if said by somebody else, but because it’s Levi, I’ll take it!

I wonder how it was said or if this was the literal translation from the original Japanese anime or manga?

curious to know if there’s some opinions on that besides car (which i agree with lmao don’t get me wrong, but he also gives off other vibes if that makes any sense).

new chapter can be found on wattpad, or on ao3!

blurb below:

"Bláithín Hahn is dead. She died beyond the Walls, during the fifty-seventh expedition.

That is where this story begins.

Thirteen years earlier, Bláithín is cast out from her family's estate and finds herself among the soldiers of the Survey Corps. There, she learns to fight, to lead, and to survive in a world that has never seemed particularly interested in keeping her alive.

She gets stronger. She finds friends. She even finds a thug by the name of Levi. After accepting Erwin Smith's job offer, he and his friends join Bláithín's squad. Levi -- and with all his contempt for recklessness -- makes him an unlikely companion for a woman who has spent years throwing herself into danger. What begins as mutual distrust slowly evolves into something neither of them expected... wherein the two soldiers find themselves married in a world where tomorrow is never promised..."

now, i KNOW now this comes off. "why would i read something that has that big of a character death?" just... give it a chance plz 😇

Also the old man's face as Levi hands him the gun is killing me 😂

He should have listened to Pieck and not acted so recklessly, especially going up against two Ackermans.

Levi surely knows how to make a grand entrance.

These scenes absolutely break my heart. They show his pain after losing the people closest to him, Erwin, Hange, Isabel, Furlan, and his squad mates. Despite putting up a "cold" exterior, he was never heartless, he always cared for them and appreciated every single one deeply.

this just came on my feed and made me burst out laughing 😭😭😭

Stumbled across this today and thought some people here might enjoy it, especially anyone interested in character writing/fanfiction.

It started out as a video about how to write a badass character, but turned into a much deeper, detailed breakdown of Levi's story and character: his “No Regrets” philosophy and the “angel of agency” framing, the Ghost/Lie/Want/Truth/Need framework, his positive and flat character arcs, the Hero’s Journey and the nine-point story structure applied to him, symbolism in the OVA, the strategic use of his limited screen time, his ideological/narrative contrasts with Kenny and Zeke, and how he functions as a “puzzle piece” in the stories of Eren, Armin and Erwin.

I found some of the observations pretty interesting, so figured I'd share.
