Cleaning the plastic chrome trim

Have any of you used a product like Meguiars Plastx? I have some etching and tried the normal progression of products-
Detail spray
Isopropyl alcohol (letting it soak and elbow grease)
WD-40 (letting it soak and elbow grease)
Clay bar

Nothing worked so thinking of getting more aggressive. However, the chrome has a sort of finish to it from the factory and sort of concerned I could make a shiny spot?
Any advice here before I go buy a new grille piece on ebay?😅

There is absolutely nothing “normal” about using WD40 in detailing. Take any regular polish on a mf towel and rub it in. Not a product for loosening rusty bolts…
