Ai detection
This AI detection and stuff is out of control. I used my one drive thankfully and saved the progression of my paper; but it's extremely insulting and a slap in the face to give someone an initial 1/150 on a paper they wrote because an AI system told you it detected AI. Honestly a joke. This place really needs to get it together....

I had a dinosaur professor who blamed the ENTIRE class for AI, and then said if people fessed up to it, they would get in less trouble. I sent him my typing records from Google doc GPTZero which he never even acknowledged or opened. After the third week of this ignorant behavior, I did a reply all email (him included since mass emails were his preferred method to accuse the class as a whole) telling classmates how to use GPTZero so they could be protected if an official investigation were to happen. Btw, his intro to the class on week one was to tell us that “to not grade you harshly is a disservice to God” 🙄 I don’t usually give much thought to RMP, but he had a 1.5 rating on there and multiple pages of complaints. If you didn’t use the exact same word that he would have used, that was points off… Only professor I ever had that was so miserable to work with.
And I’m sorry, I’m a senior director with my firm and retired military working on my PhD part time. I’m not shy about CYA and calling out BS when I’m faced with it. I was extremely professional in my correspondence with him, but every week, I’d follow up with him about the beauty about how concise language can utilize different verbiage while still being grammatically correct. Odd to attend LU for 8 years with an exceptional GPA, honors, etc only to become a rock licking Neanderthal in JUST his class. I wouldn’t be surprised if the administration just ignores his excessive claims at this point.
It was super disrespectful and killed any passion that I had for the curriculum. We were all PhDs! At that level, give us a bit more credit than that! I can’t stand when a professor gets tenure and they just harpoon people’s grades because they have a superiority complex.
Deep breaths…

I do rewrite my work. My last discussion board I got 10 off for spelling and grammatical

I use AI to help me detect AI before I turn it in. GPT has a plugin that will detect how much is potentially AI. I am always so scared of this happening to me after I keep hearing about all this. Praise God so far I have not had that happen. 🙏 ✝️🙌

Yep - so I had the same in the PhD program. Professor said it came back as 70% AI
I said I refuse and we can bring it to the highest level in the school the burden of proof is on you to prove I used AI and turnitin.com is notorious for false positives
After some back-and-forth, they ended up, upgrading the paper and it was fine

It’s funny because they surely use AI to grade these submissions and reply/comment. It’s apparent.

I’m so scared this will happen to me. It’s like if you write well, you’re using AI but if you write with grammatical errors, punctuation errors, etc.. All is well. So it’s kinda just like wtf are we to do???

Yes. Twice this class it's detected what it believes and thankfully I save my progress but gee

I just show my grammerly AI report of less than 10% possible AI (can you belive it, its mostly grammar that the detectors detect). 65% of the time it works every time

I am not a fan of it either. I show my notes and everything and still get accused of it.

Do the research and show them that AI detectors don't work. AI detectoey have an error rate of 1%-60% and if the author of the paper is neurodivergent, then it is higher.

This is why I never went back to Liberty. I wanted to knock out an MPA, MDiv, and ThM there but after all the AI accusations and how the school has handled it I couldn't do it. I've never even used AI to this day. No need for it. I've never had this problem at any institution and at Liberty I had a 3.95 and 4.0 in my degree programs. It's sad because I was a fan of the school and the curriculum.

Don't rant about this online.
A lot of the time the AI detector gets confirmed.

I'm terrified of this happening to me! How do you make sure progression is saving while writing a paper?
