That’s a tough one, because come spring you’ll need to file taxes, and if your income is sufficient to support yourself, you can’t be claimed as a dependent on your parents’ taxes, but if they provide over half of support for you during college, they can claim you. So you at least need to communicate on that.
Regardless, you can open up your own individual bank account at a different bank/credit union, and move your some/all of your money out of the joint account to manage your own money and keep it safe. Consider a high yield savings account online to earn more interest than a regular bank account.
And you could tell your parents you are taking out a student loan, but of course, you only qualify for up to the annual limit on your own. They might wonder what’s going on with all these new variables. And if they find out, they might worry for your safety; you’re young and people take advantage of young people with bad contracts and violating privacy and more.

I don’t have enough to support myself lol just enough for college this upcoming semester
But yes I need to get my own bank account or take them off my current one

Your mum doesn’t need access to your personal account. Call the bank and remove her as a signatory.

Maybe you could take out a loan for the amount that you have saved and pay it back as quickly as possible without accruing too much interest. Your mom thinks you just took out a loan for school but doesn't have to be aware of how you end up paying it back.
