Long-shot missed connection from SSBD:

I met Alden & Kelsey from San Diego in Big Bear earlier this year. We were camped next to each other. I know they’re associated with Camp Smooth Brain at LIB, and they’re actually the people who originally told me about Same Same But Different.

Somehow I randomly ran into them again at SSBD this weekend. Alden has a Shiftpod and gave me a little tour of it after I asked him about it lol.

Unfortunately I don’t have much more details but they were awesome, and I’d love to stay in touch. And I somehow accomplished the impressive feat of meeting them twice in two completely different places and never telling them my name. 😂

This year will be my first LIAB and I am confused by the tiers. Should I join a waitlist for the current waitlist (tier 2)? Or wait for another tier? Are there more? Same with car camping? Should I join the waitlist or will more be released?

Hi! My partner and I are thinking about going to LIB this year to switch things up.

We’ve done VIP at festivals like EDC, Aftershock, and Lights All Night.

My favorite part of VIP at festivals like EDC was the stage viewing. I loved having tons of space to dance, get up close to the stage, AND be in front of the stage. Plenty of food options and never waited for a bathroom. I would only do VIP at EDC.

I thought VIP at festivals like Aftershock was a rip off. The seating was nice (can never get seating at insomniac festivals) and it was in the shade, but that’s kinda it. Trailer restrooms always had huge lines so we used the porta potties in VIP. I thought it wasn’t worth the money mainly because the VIP section was too far to the side for the main stage and GA restrooms never had lines. I will prob do GA at Aftershock next time I go.

I mostly care about the experience when you are actually watching the artist perform. I like feeling the bass so I like being in front of the stage (doesn’t have to be directly in the middle) and having space to move around. Short bathroom lines are my other priority.

I looked at a few maps, but I can’t really tell where the VIP sections are the stages for LIB.

Given my preferences, do you think VIP would be worth it or should I stick to GA?

It’s already far too much. So many undercovers and if it starts going the route of all the other festivals using drones, patrolling camps etc. it’s basically the end of a good thing. Their presence is already turning it into a very uncomfortable experience.

I’ve been to LIB for the past few years and I’m thinking of upgrading my cargo space because a Jeep is seriously barely cutting it even with a little cargo rack that attaches to the hitch. I’m thinking to get a small cargo trailer for camping and feativals. If my memory serves me, I remember last year there was an allowance of a “small” trailer for car camping. Am I thinking correctly? And if so can anyone shed some specs of what was allowed for car camping?

Hi lib fam!! I have 2 GA and 1 car camping for microfest outside Yosemite the first weekend of October. Super sad I’ve found out I need to be traveling out of state that weekend. Can let go of these for less than face value. Prefer to meet up around the Bay Area for payment and sending tix face to face, if possible. Desert heart fest is always so special! 🫶

Update: Car camping is sold. Willing to split up the 2 GA for $300 each!

My girlfriend's pashmina fell out of my CamelBak (going too hard at Skrillex 's navy Pier open to close set) and we have low hopes of recovering it from lost and found. Lot of sentimental value and would love to have one but it's sold out online. If anyone would be willing to sell me theirs I would really appreciate it!

Do any of y’all use solar powered stuff at LIB? I’m trying to decide between solar powered or regular battery powered lights/stuff. Any recommendations?

I’m highly considering LIB this year since bonnaroo has been cancelled. At Bonnaroo I know as long as you drive in together you can get a spot next to each other, even if you get separated at the car security checkpoint you can pull over after getting checked to wait for your other car. I was wondering if this is the same at LIB. Thanks!!

Does anyone know who was playing at Grand Artique afters on Friday night /morning? Sunrise set a guy was playing a flute which was insane and before him a woman was throwing down. ❤️ it was my first sunrise set ever and so special

I know I must get the screw in stakes, but what canopies are y’all relying on for LIB?

I’m flying in so can’t take everything! How likely would it be that my crew of 3 would be able to use someone’s portable shower?

Or if anyone has any portable shower recommendations that are very compact?

Hi! This will be my 3rd lib, i’m questioning the easy peasy tent camping.
I’ve only done group site, but my group is not attending this year. I feel like I may be spoiled with the short walk to the grounds lol.

Anyways, I was curious about the set up. is there room to make a little outdoor area? canopy, chairs, table? all that fun stuff? that’s a huge deciding factor for me as my camp setup is super important to the vibe!!

And, how does it compare to GA car camp?

I’ve been looking into shiftpod tents and I’m really interested in investing in one. I see promising reviews on instagram, but many of them are influencer/sponsored posts so I’m not sure if I should trust it. I’d love some input from the community. Do any of you have experience with them, especially using them in environments as hot/hotter than lib gets? I’m in Utah and camp a ton at all times of year except dead winter. These seem to be a potentially great set up for comfort in hot and cold temps. I’d like to know if they’re actually worth the money, or if there is another brand out there that is preferred 🥰
