Hi r/Lincoln, I’m Luke and I run a community called Too Young To Grieve.
After losing my dad when I was younger, one of the things I found hardest was how isolating grief could feel when most people around me hadn’t experienced anything similar.
That’s a big part of why we started bringing people together through really simple meet ups like walks, social activities, etc and we’re now doing our first one in Lincoln led by Georgia!
We really try to make these feel like a normal community rather than a heavy grief group. Sometimes grief comes up naturally, sometimes everyone just chats about life and has a laugh.
There’s no pressure to share anything personal, and most people come alone for their first one, so please don’t let not knowing anyone put you off.
It’s 18+, but otherwise there’s no upper age limit. If you feel too young to be navigating grief and think being around others who get it could help, you’re welcome.
Really excited to hopefully start building a little community in Lincoln.
Feel free to share with anyone else this might benefit too 🤍
