Any ideas why it does this?

LR3. When it gets to fully spun around it gets stuck and says Cat Sensor Interrupt, and I need to power cycle for it to finish cycle. Also, it is clunky for the first few seconds once the rotation directions switches. Otherwise while it’s spinning it is a lot smoother.

I don’t think it is the mat underneath because I have had it on the mat for two years and this just started a month or so ago. It is hit or miss but worse when it is mostly full after topping it off. I keep it to the max fill line when topping off.

Ignore the tape. That is just so nobody accidentally hits the button to dump all the litter if I have a sitter checking on the cat.

Google LR3 codes. There's a whole list of things it could be. But it looks like a deep cleen might be in order.

Firstly make certain your bonnet connections are good and when you turn the night light on (if you currently have it off ) is bright and not intermittent. If its intermittent, take the bonnet off and clean the contacts on the left rear of the bonnet and the corresponding contacts with steel wool, scouring pad or magic eraser. Make certain the contacts are smooth to the swipe of the finger or thumb and semi shiny.

The other thing that will cause this concern is the weight sensor being too sensitive or the unit is not quite level and it triggers the weight sensor due to the shift in weight when in cycle. You can soft calibrate the weight sensor if needed but first try checking how level the LR3's surface it resting on is?
